that locomotive was originaly a Whight Pass loco and gave it to the mrl (montana rail link)and was sold out of rail use. it was stored in the state of oragan and probably came over there after repair and service.
likewise. This particular conversation aside, I did see the work you guys did on the lagging yesterday, and it looks to be all done and almost ready for the boiler jacket. Great work! It was pretty cool, they rolled #4 out on the passing track for the passengers to see while the last train went by, then they put her away and picked up more locomotives and cars to move onto her track to make space for the train.

This was taken a while back, I can tell. The whistle is much deeper in tone. Its much higher now.

It was her whistle. It sounds EXACTLY like it, and it looks EXACTLY the same. 2472's whistle has a very unique look, based on the color and the size.
