I never fully understood the "Kim Richards fascination" back in the day (late 1970's-early 1980's). Actually "Hello Larry" had nothing to do with "Diff'rent Strokes." After the show was on the air to boost the ratings they did a few cross episodes.
NBC was known for that. They even did it in the 90s, with the "Friends" cast and others crossing over.

I loved you Witch Mountain girl! I miss the late 70s and 80s so much. Kim Richards was definately one of my childhood crushes. Those were the days...awesome Disney movies, sitcoms, music, Saturday morning cartoons. I am proud to have been a child of the 70s.

me too! she was and is still so hot. my aunt used to take us to disney movies when i was a kid and i thought they were for kids. but that one day she took us to see "escape to witch mountain" i happy to find kim. she was one of my first crushes. in the words of her neice "that's hot".

I getcha! I liken Kim Richards and all of this talk about her being "hot-looking" when she was a teen to that of Valerie Bertinelli when she was on One Day at a Time. Valerie was cute and nice back then...but like Kim, Valerie was not mind-blowingly hot, yanno?

I never fully understood the "Kim Richards fascination" back in the day (late 1970's-early 1980's). Yeah, she was cute and all...and yes, I admit, she was definitely boinkable....and still is to this day (plastic surgery notwithstanding)....but, to me, in my opinion, she wasn't exactly incredibly hot-looking...then or now.

it was more the roles she took and how she played them. to be honest it's a little funny to me when people talk about how "hot" she is -- which, yes, she grew up to be beautiful but that's also apparently when her career started to kinda... um... turn away from movies.
you kinda had to be a kid watching her in movies when she was a kid. she's just someone who spoke to her peer group, i think.

also... KR isnt an ubercool LA actor type. her demeanor is natural, which is sometimes a good thing and sometimes bad, honestly, but always reminds you she's a person in a role rather than a "method actor" or any of that jazz. she's more genuine than most hollywood types. that was true when she was a kid and it's true now. does it mean she makes a dork out of herself sometimes? maybe. then again so do i when i'm going through life and i think that's part of why people relate to her. yanno?

What's with the labored cadence? It's like she's struggling for simple thoughts (e.g., she had to think for a few seconds before the word "audience" came to her). Will someone give me a thumbs down if I make a mostly-positive comment on her breasts?

there's a rumor she didn't learn to read till she was 16. i have no idea if it's true. but yes, the labored cadence is probably a fair observation; ole KR's appeal is that she's a sunny human being perhaps more than that she's likely to engineer a successful solution to the cold fusion problem, if you get my drift.
