For those of you who genuinely don't know, or are too lazy to investigate your own religion, the church decided to repurpose the pagan (roman) holiday of saturnalia and turn it into christmas because so many christians already celebrated that holiday that they felt it was their right to modify it to suit their own purposes. Saturnalia has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with jesus, and jesus himself has never been proven to be anything other than a character in a book written by men.

And if I´m not mistaken the first Christians placed Christmas in December because of the already centuries old tradition, Saturnalia, which the Romans celebrated around that time. I cant control what other Christians do but i know that Christians do need to respect other religions while at the same time condemning it and not just condemn other people. Jesus was born around 2010 years ago but he wasn't born on December 25th, its the date that the catholic church took from a pagan group that worshiped the lack of sun and trees.

I try to respect everyone, even if I am disgraced or humiliated while doing so. I'm not going to go telling people they are going straight to hell for their actions but I can't just stand by and let people destroy their lives with sinful actions. Everyone who has a something against Christians are obviously watching the Christians that only believe in Jesus, and the sad thing is just believing in Jesus wont get anyone into Heaven because the devil believes in Jesus too.

notice the family dynamics, dad is scared, sipping away passively...the kid trying to stand up for himself...to redeem his dad...kid gets scapegoated as he rebels, I am sure he knows that would push his moms buttons and she loses control. What do decorating pine trees, wreaths, mistletoe, and exchanging gifts have to do with Christianity? The answer, of course, is nothing. But all of those things have everything to do with the ancient Celts and their Druidic rituals around the Winter Solstice. The truth is just under the surface. "Yule" is Old English, and it is the name of the traditional festival in Druidism.

@Celephaith So true, and here where I live, in Denmark, we still use the word "Jul" about Christmas. And if I´m not mistaken the first Christians placed Christmas in December because of the already centuries old tradition, Saturnalia, which the Romans celebrated around that time. It´s one of the smartest way for a religion to convert people: They just make already well-established traditions and celebrations in other religions their own.
