well it depends... as a Domingo fan, I just think the beard makes him look older... he shaved off about 5 years when he got rid of it

Thanks for your reply, I'm a huge fan of his and I know him ( as an artist ) for so many years, that I well remember him in his younger age...and even in the seventies " the beard " made him a lot more attractive to me. That's my personel taste and I have to be honest that I never think about his age. Without beard he seems to gain a little more innocence...that's irresistible, but he's got a lot more virility with beard...don't you think so too?

yah, I agree. He has performed Cavaradossis bearded and shaven, I must say I think his bearded Cavaradossi is a cooler character.

but sometimes, he looks like Saddam Hussein with the beard. lol. that's really the only reason i sometimes dislike it.

at the olympics last august, he has a short, trim, silvery beard, and I must admit it looked cool in that black suit and unbuttoned shirt he had on! :-)

Yeah...I agree ,he was simply gorgeous singing at the closing ceremony of the olympics...he was so handsome that even my non-opera-or -Domingo-loving mom recognized it ! This man has got something very , very special! It's in his voice and in his pure existence! I'm not able to explain it , but I've seen and felt it from the very first moment ...way back in the seventies.

@OettingerCroat I know you're joking, and I did chuckle a little at the reference to Saddam Hussein (because, I hate to admit it, but I agree a little), and you don't mean to insult Domingo, but I don't think he would like it if anyone ever said that to his face.

Ja, eine sehr gelungene CD! Leider sang Placido nicht live...ist wohl im deutschen Fernsehen nicht möglich. Ist schon armselig, dass die komplette TV-Show nur aus playback-auftritten bestand. Aber wir wissen ja, das Placido Domingo live diese Songs mindestens so gut singt. Danke für´s reinstellen!
