  • Oh, thank god. I thought he didn't know how to use vibrato, until that last note. He sure proved himself to be a true professional with that lovely last note.

  • im sorry but ur trying to hard have a little fun with it give us ur own tips and blogdemikey i agree with u do not add vibrato that is for music not scales nore on the line of symphonic music

  • thanx for that. now my violin playing is much improved.

  • Practicing musicians / learners, if you could fill out my easy 4 question survey for my research project it would be much appreciated. The link is in the info of my video called practicing musicians thanks.

  • i play violin.... he's not in tune, and you're not supposed to vibrate- unless you're sure of the pitch and when you're not teaching people, for sure.

who knows, maybe he knows what he's doing. but i don't understand how this can help. does this solve anyones issues with the b flat scale?

  • its a WHOLE STEP~~~~~

  • it was just a your first lesson but you must repeat it with your teacher...

  • wow... i want to learn how to play violin

  • he treats you like an idiot but he isn't really that great for an expert...dodgy tuning here and there, etc.

  • thats because expert village sucks at everything just be grateful that this guy isn't as bad as their previous violinist she was shit!

  • 1)copy&paste

    2)post on 2 diff vids

    3)Hold your breath

    4)look at your hands

  • Beautiful tuning...

  • yeah.. mine is diff. :|

    how'd you do that??

    i just bought a violin ... in about....6 hrs??

  • I was very sarcastic. Is not very in tune at all.

How would I play in tune? Are you just starting with violin or you are saying that you got a new violin?

  • both. ha-ha

  • how do play flats ??

  • the finger board has its notes a b c so on if you are on these notes you are playing the note how ether if you go slightly above each note you will usually play a sharp and below each you are usually playing a flat

  • 4th degree is way sharp hurt my fucking ears

  • i've always wanted to play violin but they didn't offer it at my school; been playing drums for 6 years. i've taken a music theory class...

when i bought a violin a few months ago, i had no idea what i was getting into. i've searched for help videos (which haven't helped me)...does anyone know where i can find any videos that are actually helpful?

expertvillage seems to frustratingly beat around the bush.

i don't know anyone that plays violin. so i guess i'm going to look into lessons...

  • The same thing goes for me. I've been in love with the violin for as long as I can remember and I've wanted to play from when my friend showed me her violin when I was in first grade and I finally got my violin last christmas, but I can only find some lessons on how to hold your violin and such, nothing on how to play...except for one dude called Ben-chan type in 'Tutorial: How to play Zelda Lost Woods on violin!' that's a least one song^-^

  • From my opinion, you need live lessons to learn the violin. Might look simple, but really is a complex instrument which needs lots of regular practice supervision and discipline. Forget about how-to videos... serious teachers would not get into this. Like as you can hopefully see here, the guy can't even play in tune the first pass, and then relies on tremollo to hide his lack of precision...

  • Your F on the D string was out of tune.

One note out of tune playing it that slow? Enough reasons for me to close this video.

  • howabout some data...slightly flat? ppl are looking to learn, not sample ppls narcissism.

    Enjoy closing videos.

  • it was actually slightly sharp...

  • wow coool thx duda

  • What's with the vibrato? It makes it very difficult for me to hear the correct pitch.

  • i'm going to take violin ummm in 2 weeks!!!

  • :D thats great!! yeah im thinking about taking it up myself.. iv always wanted to play the violin :)

  • This video is horrible. I'm sorry.. you don't vibrato in scales.. scales are meant to depict individual notes and tones and vibrato is exactly the opposite..a fluctuation between half steps.. BAD! .. and that violin really does look huge haha. This didn't teach anything about the scale either.. yikes

  • uhh, i was searching on whats the easyest way to play the fourth finger.. i cant! its soo haardd!!!!!! my hand isnt that big!

  • teaching scales with vibrato is confusing.

  • Hah. Man, these "expertvillage" people enunciate to the point of insult.

  • Enunciation is good because many people learning violin are children.

  • why is it so big? viola?... hrrm...

  • its big because his an adult.. i have a smaller one because im a child..

  • yeah.

  • thats a big violen

  • its violin... -.-

  • omgu have to correct me?? lol fag

  • hmm.. i dont see a point in writing "lol" there.. and its not that big, i mean, its a normal size for him.
