  • I wonder is it possible to mix copper chloride with the wick and wax to produce a blue burning candle.

  • @nexzabuza You could. Copper Chloride is commonly mixed with wax and then pine cones are dipped in the wax. But I wouldn't use it indoors, the smoke isn't safe for indoors.

  • Do you guys sell it worldwide?

  • @Ruttie2 We only ship inside the United States.

  • @skylighterVideos Motherfu... Ok, thanks <:D

  • so magical shit here!

  • Chemistry in motion..Luv it.

  • She put the copper chloride in her hand? I thought it was caustic!

  • i done this at scl 2day wiv loads of diferent things

  • cant you just buy Copper Chloride from hardwere store o no you can get copper something that turns fires a colour i thought green

  • Comment removed

  • instead of buying copper chloride, you can cut a piece of hose and a piece of copper pipe the same length and stick the copper pipe in the hose and it will have a better, longer blue and green affects!

  • how long will it burn blue?

  • It all depends on how much you add as well as the temperature of the fire. It will burn for several minutes then slowly start to fade from sections of the fire, some areas can stay colored for 10+ minutes.

  • how did you make the copper chloride?

  • We sell Copper Chloride by the pound, we did not make it.

  • you can add HCl to Cu (Hydrochloric Acid to Copper metal) it wont dissolve the copper not it all.. Nitric Acid is the only acid capable of fully dissolving Copper.. its really easy but it smells bad, releases chlorine gas, toxic.. you will have to evaporate (boil) all the water away.. but hydrochloric acid etches metal so use a glass bowl if trying to and low low heat as glass crackles when heated alot..

  • @antiswattt You could do it through electolysis of course.

  • someone respond. Doesn't just ocean water soaked wood turn fires blue?

  • No, it does not.

  • that cant be copper chloride if it burns blue...CUCL2 burns green

  • I believe you are thinking of copper(I) chloride.

  • Ya. Or copper (II) Oxide.

  • Here is a link on how to create colored flames.

  • CuCl2 doesn't combust or burn. It's not a powerful oxidizing agent like KClO3, nor it is a reducing agent at all.

  • it's a good catalyst

  • well ive used in at school so.....no es toxico

  • highly toxic? care to explain or post link?

  • Dont they use it in fireworks? Along with many other metals to create the colours?

  • yup, its a ton of lairs with gun powder mixed with chemicals for the different colours some r toxic tho for if inhaled
