I remember seeing Leinil Yu's entry in Wizard's fan art. It was a Batman piece. The Joker was wearing Bruce's cowl. He's gone a long way since then. Galing! More power to Filipino artists! (AND Filipino martial artists na den!)

it really saddens me knowing our great veteran artists migrate to other countries just to pursue their career kaya lalong yumayaman comic book industry sa amerika imbes na ung sa 'tin

and its one of the reasons kaya mahina and komiks industry natin... =/

Actually, kahit gustuhin ng mga artist na dito sa Pilipinas mag trabaho, sino magha-hire sa kanila? Wala namang publisher dito that will give these artists a living. Yung mga lumalabas na comics dito are mostly self published. Iba published ng book publishers, pero maliit naman ang kita.

For our local industry to flourish, we need people with money who will hire our artists and writers to create comics. Until that day, we really can't blame our artists if they choose to work abroad.

same case with other fields of work, nurse, teachers, doctors, etc...

its a dilemma, indeed

like choosing between personal income and patriotism/nationality

thats why im so glad you guys make every effort to make "us" known to the world, talented and skillful filipinos and still maintains your sense of nationality
