Why did Roger have to be such a jerk to Rick? Not saying that i dislike Rog,but he wanted everything his way.Glad Rog and Rick worked one final time at Live8.I guess the old Ufo floyd and pre darkside floyd ended in Montreal 1977 thats probably why Rog became kinda a jerk toward Dave and Rick, but it helped him write the WALL
I love this album. Rick had a beautiful voice, and was such a talented musician... I'm sure Pink Floyd wouldn't have been the same without him. Rest in peace, Rick.
Is it just me or are there parts in this song that somewhat resemble the music of Comfortably Numb? The chord progression in some points and a little bit of the melody sound a little bit like Comfortably Numb. Listen for it. Interesting... it being that this was released 1978 and The Wall was released 1979... hm...
RIck was such a genius. He's just been such an inspiration to me. One of the musicians that I admire the most. The PF albums without him just were not PF albums to me.
it resembles that particular song from The Wall because these songs are based on certain old folk or blues etc tunes no matter who uses them to create "new" works. yes, Rick was a genius indeed, and a quiet one for that, never showed it off. been one of my inspirations too ever since i got to know Pink Floyd and its great members. PF and Roger Waters, with or without its entire original members, have always been good for me no matter what though, however i prefered the band as a whole much more.
I don't understand why this album has been so disregarded. I think this is as good as if not better than any solo project Waters or Gilmour have done.
You can really tell formt his track how he was so influential on the epic feel of the second grouping of Floyd (post Barrett). It's all int eh chord transitions and minor notes. That lucid dreamlike floating feeling.
You'll be sorely missed Richard. sorely missed indeed. RIP my friend. Life well done.
Love this song and remember the album very well, rest in peace Rick I'll miss the days of Floyd with you on the keyboard and adding perfect vocals and you've left some beautiful music with us.
I got this album on vinyl, used, for $2. Mint condition too. I FEEL SO GODDAMN UNWORTHY. Richard...ugh, what a genius.

Is the Zee album good? I have not heard any songs from it. well pretty much everything Richard does is amazing.
TheAudioFlex 2 years ago
Zee album has some great songs, like Cuts Like a Diamond. Which is worth picking up, for that song alone.

Well we can at least agree it's a whole lot better than Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports. :-)
