I saw Bad Co in 1990 the day after Stevie Ray Vaughan died. Halfway through the drummer said he wanted to come up front and play a song. He came and sat down at the front with his feet dangling off. He said he wanted to dedicate this song(shooting star) to Stevie and he replaced "Johnny" with "Stevie" in the song. The crowd sang along and there was a sea of lighters. Not a dry eye in the house. When you hit the "Big Time" and you still show class like this you become a Superstar. Bad Co Rocks.
Have to say, Paul Rodgers will always be awesome, I just wish he sang his songs straight sometimes. He gets too frilly and showy with arpeggiated vocals when straight with subtle vibrato sounds better. They always say 'the old version's the best!' Don't they?
it is time to call chuck norris into this matter..... honestly people we all have to ask what would chuck norris do in this situation.......... please everybody... enough
Dude how can you compare Paul Rodgers to Freddie , Paul Rodgers is a legend , Paul Rodgers is older then Freddie was when he died playing at a higher level then he did when he started at his advanced age hes like fine whine... Theres no way in living fuck Freddie woulda improved with his health problems and habbits... So shut the fuck up and move on with your pathetic lives...
@tomcardello This song was written a year before Kossoff died. it's not written about any specific person , just all the casualties like Hendrix, Joplin , Morrison etc.
My brother shooting star, lol on sons account. He loves hearing bot his uncle. Wonderful man, died from alcohol. After dad suicide, I'm dyining. Shooting stars we all are burn it out
To romavictora: Thank you for demonstrating to everyone what an idiot you really are. If you were truly a fan and followed Paul from early Free to Bad Co. to the present day you would know that "The Squint" is just that...a squint. He's always done it, always will. It's just Paul.
Love, love, love this man. The most sexy, soulful voice I've ever heard. When my workday becomes too stressful I retreat to my corner and turn on Free or Bad Co. Immediately my stress eases. Don't feel so much like it's me against the machine.
I remember the first time I heard this song, I was in the Navy at Whidbey Island, far from home and far from my old friends. I always think back to those days when I hear this song...
Paul rocks! I think this guitar player is unique and sounds great. Paul knows his music and I like his vocals on this night. He changed the arrangement but I like it.
Paul Rodgers is on another level from Freddie. Sorry freddie could do we are the champions , and a few other songs his voice was not suited for rock songs. They had to be low key songs. Paul Rodgers can do both , and hes past 50 doing it still at the same high level... Only person who can say that is Bob Seger thats saying alot...
Why..or how could anyone badmouth Paul? Cracks me up..you should really think about what you;re doing..ya know..don't flush the stool while Mom is taking a shower upstairs..LOL. It's so easy to sit behind your keyboard with your hand on your tool and badmouth..it's what makes the internet a bad thing. You'll get your ass kicked in real life..LOL
Paul Rogers is the voice of the rock era that moves beyond one band. Free, Bad Co, The Firm, . He even sang with Queen. Four major bands , one voice, different eras, a major talent in the last years of guitar rock.
Finalmente te diste cuenta q no vales la pena posteando boludeces a un temon q cualkier persona q gusta del buen rock & roll considera bueno..
