  • thank you and all the holly spirrits that may gidded us thank you thank you thank you 3+3=6+3=9

  • @pepsnorkel Thank you for watching xxx

  • This is a beautiful video. I think I will share this with my non-Pagan friends and family to help explain things. Blessings. )O(

  • @Pagan4Pride Thank you so much, I try to make these so they are not too "in your face", so that my Non Pagan friends can enjoy them too x Thanks for watching x

  • Lovely video, happy ostara, and then lughnasa to you!

    Greetings from Albion.

  • @cruithneuladh Thank you! xx Blessings x

  • WitchesSky - my sincere apologies, ta bron orm, but I mis-spelt part of it, the word "faoi" should be spelt like that and not "fhaoi".

It's a tricky language, Gaelic, lots of mutations and aspirations, anyway, more power to your elbow, slan go foill!

  • Samhain shona, agus bliain ur fhaoi mhuise duit, beir bua!

  • @cruithneuladh Thank you, I love that phrase x

  • always a joy

    :o)

  • @tps607 You certainly are Tom x

  • @SytheClaw Have a blessed Samhain :)

  • @WitchesSky ty =)

  • @SytheClaw Thank you for watching x

  • Have I missed the date of Samhain - although I'm not a true Pagan or a true Christian, i was looking forward to trying to leave a gate open for my deceased parents and many, many of my departed ferrets, to see if they would come to visit me. i miss them horribly, so I'll leave a candle in the window on 10/31 & be open to who comes to see me. Peace to All...Ann xoxo PS Thanks for such a beautiful, enlightening video!

  • @annbaskervill No Ann you haven't missed it, its tonight! :) Thank you for watching, I am behind on all my emails as usual, working my way through :)

  • @WitchesSky Once I read/watched several more videos about Samhain, I realized that it is tonight. Now, I'm ready - I've got my pumpkin, candles (white), my dear ferret Bristol RIP's ashes & a picture of my folks to draw them close..:) I started celebrating last night, so it's on for tonight!!! Thanks again:)

  • thanks for sharing

  • @wolfbushcraft Thank you for watching x

  • Blessed Samhain Everyone! Besides, the song is Christian, not Pagan ("Salva nos Stella Maris et Regina Cellorum" means "Save us, o Star of the Sea and the Queen of Heaven), but it's beautiful anyway. These girls have so beautiful voices... With Slavic Pagan greetings from Poland!! :)

  • @OldWaysFollower Thats good :) I chose it for the beat...I dont mind it being Christian, alot of my Songs are on the other video's (lol..mostly people don't notice) Loreena McKennit seems to flip flop between Christian and Pagan songs too... I have always been Pagan and one of my favourite songs is Ave Maria. I hope if there is one thing my video's promote is how we once worshipped side by side, and that we can do that again. Thank you Blessings x

  • Beautiful!!! i am simply in love with the song that starts at 2:00. do you possibly know its name or who its by? have a Blessed Samhain and many happy times for the new year!

  • @Dreovid333 medieval baebes "salva nos ", all three songs are by them :) Blessings to you too :)

  • very interesting my dear, thanks for sending ,my sister is really into all this.have a blessed samhain, go easy on the mead lol.

  • @beachfrontal Lol, thank you David x

  • @beachfrontal Yesterday when I saw nos calan gaeaf,I thought gee that looks like Welsh! Certainly I recognised nos although the accent on the o is missing,&the word gaeaf meaning winter, the word calan had me foxed,I thought surely it's calon which is heart, which would interpret into "night of the winter heart" this is all useless info,as I did find a reference to it all,in Google,I thought halloween was an American custom, apparently it's Celtic with roots originating in Wales, well I never!!

  • @beachfrontal See, now isnt it amazing when you watch something like this, you immediately start learning the history of things! lol... sometimes the history of Paganism gets a bit misty, or depends on who wrote that particular part of history... but there are certain things that remain the same among all the historians. I love your translation! I dont know the exact translation but I have read its "Night of Winters Eve", Samhain translates to "summers end", so its all along the same lines x

  • Beautifully-done!

  • @ajdpadbury Thank you xx

  • Wonderful video & music, many bright blessings to everyone and I hope you have a blessed Samhain )O(

  • I have just settled everyone down, getting them to bed and thought I would have a look to see what I could find... Wow, what a nice surprise. I taught my first Samhain circle this year which went very well for me and for some in our group who never knew the actual meaning of "Halloween". You did a wonderful job of putting this together...I will be recommending that they watch this... Many Thanks

    Blessed Be,

    Rainbow Skull Woman

  • Karen thank you so much, this was my one from last year.... I am most proud that all the photography I use is mine...I only wish I could sing too or play an instrument.... but other than the spoons, I cant do either! lol... hugs xx

  • This was beautiful and touched a deep resonating ancient chord within my celtic blood and bones. My ancestors always appear this time of year, as well as a feeling of loss and death, but if I fight or fear that feeling, I fight myself. This video has shown me that I can accept death as an important part of my growth. Thank you, blessings be :)

  • Thank you so much for watching :) It means alot to me that you took the time to comment

    Blessed Samhain

  • Beautiful!

  • Thank you for watching it :) x

  • although im not a pagan i do find the pagans beliefs and spiritual outlook to be fascinating and i do have an appreciation for it, the music in the pagan culture and their love of nature is very endearing and pagans seem to be closer to nature than others.

  • Thats a wonderful outlook, and thanks for taking the time to watch my video x

    Lisa

  • thank u so much, hecate bless you

so wonderfull music, ive taken it for my samhain celebration this year

  • Thank you for watching

    many blessings xx

  • thank you

    blessed be

  • Blessings to you also :)

  • Sooo beautiful and wonderful. I can't get over what a beautiful beginning Halloween had, before Cadbury, Hershey and Stephen King got a hold of it. What the hell is "fun size" anyway?!

Embarrassingly, I will tell you that before my trip over there, our hosts asked if I wanted to go to Stonehenge because it was close. (I think) Anyway, I told them no, thinking it was just a pile of rocks. I'm profoundly sorry we didn't go there. Yeah, pile of rocks, and the Grand Canyon is a hole.

    Be well.

  • Hugs Dave xxxxxxxx

  • Awesome...but I am so ready for the spring...I love the warmth[spring/ summer], and the growth of nature:)

  • Thank you so much x

  • Blessings to you' My Favorite by far. Keep up the beautiful work.Your explanation and presentation is outstanding especially for those whom have just begun their own personal journey's and those as well who may have heard "Samhain" but not really understood. Many Blessings to you Merry we Part

  • Thank you so much x

  • I really like this video. It was a big help for me because I'm doing a presentation for English about Samhain at my school. Besides that this is a wonderful and very inspiring vid, I really enjoyed it. Oh and is the music from Mediaeval Baebes? because I really like them, but I never heard this one before.

  • Yes it is :) thank you for watching, good luck with your English presentation :) Lisa

  • Thank you for making this lovely series of videos, you can tell you have the right mindset. I am looking forward to your Yule offering, I always need something to help me limp through the depths of winter, I am a spirit of water and the cold does freeze my very soul. Blessed Be and thank you.

  • Thank you, that really means alot to me :)

Oh I love this time of year! The darker months are my favourite :)

  • For me, it's always been about the cold. I love the night, the stars and the mystery of the moonlit nights. But like I said, I am truly a water spirit and even though snow can be heart stoppingly lovely, it just isn't where I thrive.

    Blessed be and Merry met!

  • Vary nice to get a welsh mention of Nos Calan Gaeaf, THANK YOU. its legend is this.

The spirits are abroad this bleak Ysbrydnos

But I do not fear the Yr Hwch Ddu Gwta

    Ysbrydnos = Winter Night

Hwch Ddu Gwta = "black sow" tailless fearsome spirit. A few leaves of ground ivy is thought to give you the power to see hags and spirits

  • Wonderful. I have added it to my favorites.

  • Great video Lisa, thanks so much for another history lesson, loved the music too.......Evelyn

  • Thank you Evelyn x

  • As you may have noticed I featured this on my blog as I think it's extremely informative as well as being well-made. Your genius shines out yet again Lisa in your production of what amounts to a mini-documentary worthy of the small-screen.

  • Oh wow, I did notice, thank you so much for that... I was reading waiting for the "go professional" dig again! lol.. the lecture! haha.. Thank you so much for your constant support xx Maybe one day... who knows...

  • Another great Video Lisa, Loved the music.

    XXX

  • Thank you Perry xxx

  • That was interesting Lisa, I feel I know more now. Dominika tells me they have All Saints Day, the day after, as a public holiday in Poland:)

  • Thank you Anthony... yes! Thats the origin of Halloween too...early Christians made it a Saints day, then when the Pilgrims went to America it gradually grew into what Halloween is today.. its a fascinating history... lol!

    Thank you for watching x

  • so magical thank you for this heavenly post

  • Thank you very much for watching x

  • Beautiful, interesting and informative... thankyou Lisa!

  • Thank you so much for watching x

    .`•.¸.•

  • This is absolutely beautiful!

  • Lisa, it was on one of these that we first met and I have been on every journey you have taken since. Merry met!You are a joy! *****

  • Lol, thank you :) As long as no one tells me off for influencing you (leading you astray! haha) I try not to make these kind of video's too "in your face" as I am aware that its not everyone's cuppa tea...hopefully even those not of the Pagan path enjoy them too :)

  • Lisa,12 years of Catholic Prep schools haven't led me astray! Interesting that nearly all faiths incorporate this season/belief in one way or another and believe the "veil" is very thin at this time between the worlds.Must be something to it eh? Thanks for another solid video! tom

  • Thank you Tom... you know.. when you dig into the Pagan history, of Europe I mean...way back before Christianity, you would be shocked to find how many ancient Pagan celebrations, rituals, etc.. are still celebrated today, only under different names... :) I am not a fantatic nut or anything, but I do enjoy my spiritualness (is that a word? lol) Hugs x

  • ...and it goes back before Egypt. If you ever get a chance to,read the book or view the American PBS mini-series "The Power of Myth" By Joseph Campbell. He was a professor of comparative religion at Sarah Lawrence College

  • Someone told me about him before.. I will look into it thank you x I find the history fascinating, but I always have to explain to people that I am English, as our historical facts are so different... to many, historical Witches means Salem, to me it goes much further back.. or more recently, Matthew Hopkins.

  • I don't remeber seeing this.

The Video Is Excellent. Great Job Lisa!!!

    1000****

  • Thank you! Someone just sent me a video explaining that when you send these out to your friends, it only goes to the first 100, and then just stops, and its alphabetical, so I guess you never ever received a video from me! lol.... thanks x P.S Are you sending me video's?? If so I am not getting them! lol..

  • Lisa, you will find Campbell to be a compelling and fascinating storyteller of our spiritual roots.Witchcraft is so misunderstood, thanks to Hollywood. There are many good books to be had that have a truer feel for it...and there are solitaires and covens nearly everywhere. The Catholic church was ace at incorporating pagan festivals into it's calendar, and it shows! xo

  • That is so true... it is one of the most misunderstood reliions, but sadly, there are some terrible, dreadful, so called Pagans on the internet who really arent helping matters! lol...

  • the media has a way of perverting any non-mainstream religion to satan-worshipers or simply fools. There was a time when true pagans were the ONLY religion......

  • Yes it seems that nowdays even when there is a pro-pagan documentary on, they seem to always find some little grey haired old man with glazed over eyes wearing a rainbow rug and sandals chanting "ommm".... and I sit and cringe... my Mum and I look perfectly normal people...I dont know where the whole Pagan is Goth, Goth is Pagan thing comes from.. lol.. just venting, sorry! haha

  • Always the spin-doctors are at work, subtle or not. Here there is also the influence of many South American and African-Carribean cults. And it all gets lumped together as chicken (or human) sacrificing crazies. There are some like Selena Fox who are treated fairly, but not many.

  • I must admit.. I get very little negativity..England is very accepting of Pagans, if I get any hatemail at all, its usually online from other website.. even youtube has been very kind to me, most of my freind list is non Pagan, and I try and do these videos as informative and not too "in your face" and the response has been wonderful :) thank you x

  • lol...England has Stonehenge,America has Salem!

  • I actually just drove right Stonehenge a few weeks back.. we were going to Glastonbury and my friend was bending over trying to get me some popcorn flavoured jellybeans out of her bag, and I suddenly saw it and screamed...I almost killed her! lol.. I had no idea we drove right by it! lol....

  • I am with this Lisa! I learn so much from your vids and the Medieval Babes are great!5* because that's all I can give. Just put my organic garden to rest yesterday and had a bountiful yield all summer...I give thanks to the gods and goddesses at this Samhain. Thanks Lisa!

  • Thank you x I KNEW you would like the music! I bet you if I came round your house and looked at your music collection, it would be identical to mine! I was surprised when I looked at your channel, it was like I had requested all the songs! lol.. thank you x

  • Ha, ha! hands across the water Lisa! you should put something to "Unto Ashes" I am sure everyone would love it!;-}
