You've got to admit though guys; this video does kind of make sense. First they want to make our laws, now they want to control our economy and take away our sovereignty. I really like GB but it´s not correct that the EU is evil or the New Nazi State (see below). It is mean to claim such things because the EU-states are to be democratic. Each country can do most of its own affairs. When there is a confrontation with e. g. other big countries the EU is able to act together. The Lisbon treaty just tries to come to terms with developments.
Furthermore the EURO is very solid but of course it is Great Britain´s very decision to receive it or to refuse to adopt it.

One severe problem of the EC and then EU has always been the question of controlling what its bureaucracy is doing. Because of the fact that the EU-Parliament in the past had not been able to do the checks and balances in a proper way problems arose and were to be solved. So it has always been a searching for compromises.

The figures are from the European Commission internet site. According to European rules you're supposed to contribute according to your GDP, UK is the 3rd of the EU yet they are only 4th in contribution and the only highly developped European country to have a rebate. The rebate dates back to 1985(23 years ago) and is paid by all the other members of the EU including the poor states. France contributes in first position with 1.5 billions euros.

The way the EU works now is bad. It would function much better as a casual military, environmental and ecconomical aliance. Those were its original points, but they have strayed far. You need to learn the difference between a political union and an economic union. The EU is the former and is completely unnecessary to achieve the goal of a united economic situation.

You've got to admit though guys; this video does kind of make sense. First they want to make our laws, now they want to control our economy and take away our sovereignty. Theyll be making us speak a foreign language and demanding us to use their metric measurements unless we put a stop to it. And they'll be taking away our name and making us 'The United States of Europe.
The EU is a bureaucracy that we should at least be given a democratic referendum on; Ireland have rejected once already.

I really like GB but it´s not correct that the EU is evil or the New Nazi State (see below). It is mean to claim such things because the EU-states are to be democratic. Each country can do most of its own affairs. When there is a confrontation with e. g. other big countries the EU is able to act together. The Lisbon treaty just tries to come to terms with developments.
Furthermore the EURO is very solid but of course it is Great Britain´s very decision to receive it or to refuse to adopt it.

You cannot seriously claim that the EU is taking away democracy and self governance privileges as a whole.
One severe problem of the EC and then EU has always been the question of controlling what its bureaucracy is doing. Because of the fact that the EU-Parliament in the past had not been able to do the checks and balances in a proper way problems arose and were to be solved. So it has always been a searching for compromises.

The figures are from the European Commission internet site. According to European rules you're supposed to contribute according to your GDP, UK is the 3rd of the EU yet they are only 4th in contribution and the only highly developped European country to have a rebate. The rebate dates back to 1985(23 years ago) and is paid by all the other members of the EU including the poor states. France contributes in first position with 1.5 billions euros.

You don't really have any idea of how this thing work don't you? You pay all of your contribution first, then the EU gives you some money back, which is paid by other members of the EU, mostly France, Italy and Spain. Talking about YOUR money, isn't it great to come crying to the EU for money after you lost or are about to lose huge amounts because of Iceland? What about the Pound? The way the EU works now is bad. It would function much better as a casual military, environmental and ecconomical aliance. Those were its original points, but they have strayed far. In fact we need to be on union inside Europe, otherewise there'll be that mistrust again that caused so many wars between the Europeans, I just do not like the way that the EU is developing, seems to be becoming a dictaorship by time.

I think we should just vote to be in the EU or to leave it. If Gordon Brown doesn't let the people vote on this new Treaty then him and the rest of the Labour party should be thrown out of office and i think if that happens you will see them thrown out.

we were using both sets of measure ments quite hapily untill brussels made the imperial ones illegal and there is no contradiction. one of our largest trading partners..america uses old measurements as do many other nations so we keep them we use them metric is good but imperial measure ments should not be against the law

The fact is in the act of union the Scottish and English power was not removed and the borders were not lost and the heritage and culture whipped away I have no problem being European though im British first but the EU as it stands now has to go it removing the power of my queen and government our courts it is destroying our border culture and industries my view is that we need to leave and it may be strange but it is echoed by many millions of people.
