@79Testo What you're seeing here is kind of "preliminary" warning. If they feel even more threatened, you'll usually see them bend into a U-shape and lift their tail to show they mean business. As for when they actually spray, it comes from their bum, so yes, their butt will have to be pointed one way or another.

@xhappyxlifex it depends on the context, a lot of times baby skunks stomp like this at each other to instigate play, and babies that are being raised as pets will "stomp and scoot" at their perople to instigate play. However, a wild skunk will stomp when frightened, and usually makes a less adorable display by adding hissing to the mix. =p
