The reason why they claim they arent doing metal anymore is because Chad Bennington was told by his doctor he would lose his voice if he kept singing as a metal vocalist.

LP can do anything, even if some people(including myself a bit) are dissapointed about Minutes To Midnight its still a great album, some songs there are a bit like the old ones :)
