  • And I forgot, Never encircle a pod of Cetaceans.

  • For the love of all that is good and decent in this world: FOCUS!

  • "So long, and thanks for all the fish"

  • For all the stupid ignorant bloggers on the internet:

Have you ever seen a boat hit a dolphin or heard of such an occurence?

    ANSWER ME!!!

You cannot hit these animals. Something stirred them up and they were merely reacting.

We as land dwellers were fortunate enough to view this spectacle.

So please keep your ignorance to yourselves and stop displaying as a badge of honor over the the internet. We know you are stupid.

  • really cool!

  • cool!

  • thanks for the reply, I guess your right, it just seems like inevitably it would happen, but I guess I dont give them enough credit to their intelligence.

  • wouldnt you feel awful if one got caught up in your prop? Dont you think that killing your engine would have been a smarter idea than following them?

  • @Thevinylhouse. We have been in these situations with the dolphins on an almost daily basis...and have never come close to colliding with them or, heaven forbid, injuring them. They LOVE to come to the boat and ride the bow and we couldn't keep them away even if we tried.

  • i agree wit @dstory69....they kno sumthin we dont kno and they scared

  • These animals are running from something and its not the boats... I would heed their warning and get the hell away from CA and the San-Andreas.

"So long and thanks for all the fish..."

  • These Dalphines Are Clearly Following This Boat, They Aren't Being Hurt...(:

  • they're trying to tell us something but we're to dumb to understand....something is going on and they're beaching themselves and acting erratic but no we don't see that till its to late....

  • The dolphins are very sensitive animals to the magnetic field of the earth, something in the sea scared this animals. Also the west coast is overdue for the big one. Are the dolphins feeling something relate to the seismic activity of the west coast?

  • This is happening all over...this week in Palm Beach with sharks.

And the mammals on the boats still think the dolphins are just having fun...I see a message here.

    Dolphin Spring

  • Dolphins are so majestic! I can't help but wonder at this video, and what was going on. No doubt they are accustomed to boats in the area; so... what were they trying to communicate? Strange indeed; yet, beautiful!

  • DOLPHIN TALES - welcome to 2012

  • Would be a lot more enjoyable to watch if there wasn't a stupid boat in the middle of the pod. Idiots.

  • Amazing! Best animals on the planet!

  • oh shit they're coming for us!!

  • I noticed dolphins on the bow...were any of them riding the stern?

  • brace yourself....9gag army is coming.....

  • To set the record straight- these are Pacific White side Dolphin- a wild and not human-friendly breed, they move at will, boats only following.. like wild horses, Grey Bottle nose come up to Humans / Boats even surfboard & Sea-ski to "surf A Ride" Big Difference U got 2 be there to see it! If youre ever near L.A. Disney land or San Diego, set aside a morning and GO SAFARI!!

  • Sweet wild and Free

  • I have spent a lot of time on the water with cetaceans, and it looks to me like you are harassing this pod. However, its hard to tell from this little clip as I don't know whether they approached your boat or whether you are chasing them. As my previous comment - if you are in the middle of a pod travelling at that speed you need to have a prop guard on your boat.

  • @dolphinblessings i've never been around dolphins, but that's exactly what i was thinking. like driving cattle. i don't think this is a good idea. if they had young with them i think they'd be exhausted.

  • epic *_*

  • dick

  • On the other hand, perhaps they are trying to get away from you, the humans! If you look from 1:30 you can see the boat is in the middle of the school! Besides the other boat... nice ot see but sad to torment....

  • Wow! And to think I was excited seeing five dolphins! Thanks for sharing such an amazing experience.

    AJ

  • are the dolphins going somewhere or are they just following the boats?

  • There is nothing like seeing this and the raw nature that gets your going. Makes you want to be one of them.

  • I'm kind of in 2 minds about this clip,I think it's great that this footage has been captured tho the whole time I was freaking out- worried about the dolphins. Moving at that speed in such large numbers...shouldn't the boats have turned off the engine so the propeller didn't cut them all up???

  • @LLucas282 That's a valid concern, but they seem mostly to be alongside the boat, not in back at all, and all going in the same (and relatively predictable) direction.

  • I think after the first 30 seconds they could have stopped filming...

  • Soooooo Beautiful & Gracefull ! I WIsh I could of been there to see this !! ~:) Love, Star*

  • so awesome! They're rolling so deep lol

  • Thanks for posting!

  • FOR NARNIA!

  • Now that's something you don't see everyday...

  • Wow! I am just blown away by your video! I am also so amazed by how many dolphins there were! So cool! Just added another "bucket list" item & I gotta see that very awesome nature of dolphins myself! Thx 4 share!

    Peace ;-)

  • Mariah Carey hit a high note and they're coming to see what's up!

  • wow look a dolphin

  • @StarAcrux Actually, Dolphines love to ride on the currents of boats. Also, they love to race boats too, these common dolphines are proably hunting, playing, and racing each other all at the same time. Trust me, they really dont mind the boats. And the ter "herding" refers to "land" animals, I think. But I'm not sure.

  • Dave this is just great! God leads you into the most magnificent situations. I think for people unfamiliar, it's important to state, that for the most part, Dolphins don't make that level of white cap! That was just an enormous splash zone! Looking out to the sea beyond, you see that it wasn't a white cap ocean - it was due to the stampede. And I love your audio.

  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. They are amazing creatures and I truly love defending them and protesting against their capture...

  • Pretty cool!

  • They are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. I love dolphins, someday i would like to swim win one. For now, i will just have to admire my beautiful tattoo. :D

  • @nerakk57 I hope you also know that bottlenose dolphins are some of the cruelest animals known to nature, right?

  • @Gothos They are, all the years I lived down there in OC and grew up around the area, I never went out on the boat. I have a friend that used to work on the fishing boat in the harbor. Now, I could kick myself. They are such a beautiful and graceful animal, oh my gosh!

  • @Gothos Every animal has a positive/negative impact. Just like humans. Wonder which is worse?

  • @stellarworker The non-human one, we make malls.

  • @nerakk57 and think the japanese men destroy them on a constant basis

  • @jamesgambino and we kill cows and chickens

  • @ThePattypouter These are intelligent animals....not saying dumb animals should be killed but they communicate with humans, save their lives, and a cow just eats his own shit and stands there. Chickens are worse. Theres a connection humans have with animals that communicate....like dogs, cats, etc

  • @jamesgambino we need compassion and respect for ALL co-habitants ..perhaps you are the real ignorant for not really understanding cows and chickens and discriminating one over other.

  • @luxunity i get so sick when i see them put a bolt into a cows head and cut the throat or when i see them hang a live chicken on a hook while it screams or skin a small creature for the fur while its still alive and its screaming too. People make me sick altoghether. I just feel for dolphins bc they are so interactive and somehow connected to humans.

  • That may be true for inshore bottlenose dolphin, but for Common Dolphin, their average pod size is about 300 to 500. We seem them in pods as big as 10,000. If you go to our website and look at our sighitngs log, you'll see what I mean. Each species has their own pod characteristics. :)

  • @DolphinWhaleSafari Have you ever watched the videos from the channel "dolphinDog" they are really beautiful just like these.

  • Read this online: Generally speaking, dolphins typically live in pods of up to a around a dozen individuals. However, in areas where food is highly abundant, they may temporarily form “superpods” that can exced 1,000 individuals. These sights are rare to see and even rarer to catch on film.
