  • How come the plane doesn't take off with engines at power?

  • i was sat in a erj 135 at teh back as the frequency changes you can detect the humens whole range of hearing quite amazing till you realize you are stuck at a certain pitch till the piolet spools up a buit to taxi and you have to cope with ear spliting screeach for 10 mins of taxi lol

  • @jokerj4573 really? I figured u would have to be somewhat far away but thats cool thanks for the info.

  • what airport? nice engines PW?

  • @airbus320dfw GE CF6-80's

  • @Helicopterpilot16 what airport?

  • @airbus320dfw I'm not sure but I could guess Atlanta..

  • sexiest sound there is!

  • Don't like delta airlines

  • stupid question, but how does the plane stay in place with the engines fully on??

  • @1980sFreak engines are just running, you can sit in your car with it running and it wont move cant you? same thing

  • @hawker800FO ok, but what about the thrust? i would think that major pressure is coming out of the back... are the brakes on or something??

  • @1980sFreak the engine is idle. you could stand behind it if it wasnt a scortchin exaust, and yes the parking brakes are applied

  • i just came

  • weren't you afraid to get in the turbines? ^^

  • @75426168 he's wayy to far for the engines to suck him in he would need to be within 8ft for it to do something to him.

  • WOAH! I never really noticed how long the 767 was!

  • @Ortagafilms This is a rare 767-400 variant as far as I know only continental and delta have these so thats why it seems more longer than usual cause it is longer and they arent that easy to spot since only 2 airlines have them in service.

  • @Maxxtris85 they are very easy to spot

  • @pilotanthony Like I said 764 are not easily seen unless u live close to a hub of a delta or continental. I live by JFK and the only 764 I ever seen was that of a delta a few times. I was lucky enough to see a continental one as well one time when i was passing through Jersey. They are less than 40 of these planes around, tell me worldwide how is it possible that seeing one of these planes are as easy as u claim?

  • @Maxxtris85 they are easy to spot as i live near Heathrow! haha and i meant there easy to spot as in its easy to tell the difference between the 767-2/300 and the 767-400

  • @pilotanthony Ooo well in that case yes they are easy to tell from the 762 and 763 got ya now ;)

  • @Ortagafilms That's the longest one, a 767-400. Only Delta operates them.

  • @av8rdav no only Delta and Continental operate them (soon to be United)

  • Are you not supposed to be in the cockpit?on engine ignition?

  • Would you like to lie down infront of the engines during the startup. haha

  • Planes are cool.

  • ajjajaja....he estado en el interior de ese mismo avion. (1801) me parece gracioso, lo veía mucho cuando trabajaba en el "JFK". tengo que decir que los aviones de Delta apestan.ejejee.

  • swguy30 yes it is

  • this is amazing..

  • Careful that engine don't swallow you. Lol

  • how could u start the engines?shoudnt u be inside the plane?

  • @nonikid1 i was thinking exactly that as well?happen he has a remote control

  • What can I say: the noise is music, the smell is fine perfume, the looks is great

  • I work for Delta and I didn't know u could start the 767's or any airliner engine from the outside while your filming.... Could have fooled me lol

  • @fighterjock05 looool i think someone else was filming him while starting engines .....

  • I love this it's really amazing!!

The sound of the engines starting up and the sound of the fuel going in to them. truely amazing!

  • Is that smoke normal??

  • @dave4shmups Yes smoke is common, especially when the mixture in the combustion chamber is a rich... similar to how a gas engine sputters smoke. You should see what a running too rich looks like!

  • Isn't the beacon supposed to be on BEFORE the engine is started????

  • @swguy30 nope, beacon start when the plane its energetized from apu or engines

  • @bibovit the beacon light was on

  • @pilotanthony i said that beacon was on :P

  • @swguy30 yeah but in the us, nobody cares. :D

  • @swguy30 Yes, It has to be on before start up, Because beacon lights Are showing to other people that the the plane is about to start

  • @swguy30 The camera's frame rates aren't in sync until 0:39 but you can see part of the flash at 0:15.

  • @swguy30 Bah, technicalities

  • @swguy30 it was on

  • @pilotanthony No it wasnt, It should have been on just before no.1 engine start, Look at 0:30 underneath the plane, No beacon, Then at 0:40 it gets switched on

  • @Flyglobespan93 the beacons were always on you just couldnt see it becuase the camera has poor fps (frames persecond) and was therefore unable to catch the flash at the right instant x

  • @Flyglobespan93 the beacons were always on you just couldnt see it becuase the camera has poor fps (frames persecond) and was therefore unable to catch the flash at the right instant, look at 0:06 and 0:07 you see a black line in the screen this is the flash of the beacon

  • @swguy30 Good catch :)

  • Getting ready for its mid range flight ! Typical distance is from New York to London or Los Angeles To Hawaii !

  • Witnessing an engine startup in person is an incredible experience. As u witness the whole frequency in sound, u also feel it, from the deep chest shaking bass at startup to the ear piercing scream of the turbine coming up to speed.

  • @JbOxRh thats always really cool and the smell is great haha

  • @JbOxRh Imagine this. A 747 is on rollout, just passed through v1. Behind it, where it started, is a top fuel nitro funny car sitting there idling. He gets the green light, puts the pedal to the metal, and passes the 747 before it lifts off.

THAT sound will shake you to your core. Pilots launching off carriers don't experience that kind of acceleration or power.

  • @JbOxRh i was 20ft. away from a 737 start-up with no ear protection BIG MISTAKE

  • @JbOxRh Recap what he said, read this with emotion. Start up - BOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......EEEEEEEEEEEEYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH - enigne on :D ~fellow pilot wanna be

  • Olha és portugues ?

este 767-400 da DL foi onde ?

  • The copilot pre-flights the aircraft and opens all the wheel wells to check for any hydraulic leaks or any other problems.

  • the sound was killing me....hw was it for u??

  • the nose wheel-well is open?..isnt that supposed to be at gear-up?

  • Most, if not all the doors on any aircraft can be opened on the ground...like the second set of nosewheel doors. Even the main gear doors can be opened while on the ground.

  • maintenance:D

  • @ gear up the gear is going back up into the plane and gear down the nose wheel comes down from the aircraft.

  • are u a pilot ???

  • that would be terrible

  • Nice vid, next time tell your camaraman to zoom in a bit!

I was never a fan of the 767 growing up until now. Not sure why, but they sure look great in thee -400 longer body series! Some are now equiped with winglets...crazy!

  • very pretty bird, love the long body on those new 400s

  • Only burned about $1000 in fuel there. :)

  • Yeah that's the sound. We used to work a lot with 767-400ER at Gardermoen (GEN/ENGM) in norway, UPS had them mostly

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!! i love the 764, such a great mix of the 767-300ER and 777:D its exactly like a 777, just with a better configuration:D well close enough to a 777:P

  • no completely different from a 777

  • of course it is, i never doubted that fact;

however it is a similar aircraft to the 777 (at least from a pax point of view) on the subject of the actual aircraft systems though the 767 and 777 are completely different:)

  • This is boring, I'm going to look at some porn instead.

  • LOL!!!!!!

  • Looks like someone is going through puberty just now

  • Are those engines quieter and more powerful than the L1011?

  • they are quieter and i think they are more powerfull than the L1011 but im not sure about that

  • They are more powerful. The DAL 767-400ER has the CF6-80C2B7F engines with 63,500 lbf (282 kN) while the DAL L1011s had the Rolls-Royce RB.211-524B engines with 53000lb of thrust.

  • i like the noise of the engines ^..^

  • Oh sh1fty365? I give a shit. I watched this one twice.

  • and nobody gives a shit...kopihucky

  • is it normal to get blueish smoke out of the engines? I mean the 764ER are only about 8 years old.

  • Its oil smoke. Probably a new engine

  • Jet turbines produce the most amazing sound that man has ever been able to create. It makes me smile :)

  • WOW! That was exciting...........OMG. I can't believe ppl are actually making videos of engine starts. WTF! You don't have a girl friend? A life?

  • funny too cause i sit at work and watch them do them engine starts-n-junk..them things r loud..

  • Yea, they can be.....Them thar engine starts-n-junk. Phunny.

  • but i have nothing but Love for the Job..I seen a Piece of Paper shred too nothing while parking a plane once. Man it was Surreal. i mean the paper stood in one spot and just vanished into the engine..I couldn't image something else..

  • It happens. You should see what a turkey buzzard looks like after one goes through....

  • It's not about the engine start, it's about the technology behind it. You probably know nothing about how jet engines function or how aircraft even fly, so you are unable to appreciate it. That engine is twice the size of a car engine, probably weighs less and can produce 100 times the power.

  • I work w/V2500s, JT8Ds and CFMs. I CAN appreciate it pal. And BTW, ths BRT dosen't weigh 'less' than my cars' engine. You're a lil' short minded. Just because someone is making a crack in this site dosen't mean someone dosen't know what they are looking at.

  • Thanks, apparently being short minded pays off.

  • Not sure what the fuck you are talking abot but whatever.

  • if u say so.. I speak english pretty well but I'm not fluent in dumbass. I think we have a language barrier.

  • I doubt that an engine off that particular 767 would weigh less thana car engine.

  • You're right seemyseems. Kopi dosen't know what it's talking about. He's just trying to. No biggie. Lots of ppl in this site talk like they KNOW.....But really don't. He's one of them.

  • hahaha, to think that an engine weighed less than a car engine! My what has this world come to! :)

  • I know.....The CF6 (TF39 basicly) is a 50,000 lb thrust high bypass engine. It weighs about 10,000lbs.! Whats this guy Kopi thinking?

  • oh NKS969 you're trying to grt a rise out of us mate but really it's not working

  • A 'rise'? Dude, I couldn't care less.........Mate. And BTW, like sh1fty365 says, "nobody gives a shit" It's a stupid video of an engine run guys......Is this really a big deal to ya all?

  • what he said was "WOW! That was exciting...........OMG. I can't believe ppl are actually making videos of engine starts. WTF! You don't have a girl friend? A life?" and that is why i posted what i posted...

  • And what kind of life do you have WATCHING this video?

  • @melevy why did u watch it then?

  • @pilotanthony You replied to a comment I made a year ago? What life do you have?

  • i am one in training...i'll be doing that soooooon enough

  • I love the sound of an aircraft's engines starting. Idk why though. lol

  • I love that sound

  • katl?

  • wow, it's like music (Y)

  • yeh

  • nice, hopefully I can fly that.

  • lol

  • r u a pilot ?
