  • oh my god... anyone else being assaulted by memories? : )

  • My mum apparently cried when we saw this in the cinema and this song came on :') I was only young I can't remember, but I apparently looked so happy.

  • I haven't seen this movie in such a long time! All I really remember is the basic story... and Ariel combing her hair with the fork.

  • OMG this brings back memories! This was my most favorite movie when I was a kid, the music being one of the primary reasons. It's as beautiful as I remember.

  • Been looking for this, I love it!!!

  • Alan Menken, his music is so damn perfect . <3

  • 3D re-release, 2013! WHOO!

  • sweet tears how i miss this movie

  • @superhyperjan

what, you don't have it on video or dvd?

  • @freshPrincess626 i love the dvd! T_T

  • is there a place that you can go to download the original scores of all the old disney movies?

  • @TheDreamydonno try a youtube audio ripper

  • @SwarovskiGal : /feels stupid

if have no idea what that is. >.< sorry, maybe some definition of it? that would be nice. :3

  • T.T i almost forgot how beautiful this music was

  • when people say they miss the Old Disney, does it count as 'bringing them back' when they re-release them in 3d? cause i accept dvd, but not 3d unless that was how it was originally released. :picky:

  • Is this music emanating from my soul?

  • If you ever see me, this music will be playing in your head 'cause this represents everything I stand for. It's the music of my youth, my present and my future. I can listen to this forever.

  • my first kiss at 12 years old

  • this is my childhood music

  • i love this music

  • this gives me goosebumps EVERYTIME I here this

  • Every time I hear the end of this score I expect Sebastion's entrance... *do de dooooo, do do do do dooooo!!" :P

  • Why do I always feel like crying when I listen to this part of the soundtrack? Maybe because of the power of the melody? Or rather because all those childhood souvenirs that come along every single time? Or maybe something even deeper? All I know is this track is so beautiful and magnificent.

  • This is my childhood <3

  • I just realized... Ponyo is essentially the Japanese version of *this* story. Fitting, since Miyazaki is essentially the W. Disney of Japan. And now I realize why the opening to Ponyo affected me so profoundly. I couldn't figure it out, but now I understand. It reawakened that three year-old boy inside me. It reminded me of the first film to ever steal my heart.

  • @SoldiersOfEarth thats why i like ghibli; cause they've for the most part stuck to classic animation while Disney's gotten cgi crazy. (with the exception of winnie the pooh. but i cried just seeing the previews, cause seeing real animation made me feel like a little girl again. and i cant wait to see Arriety the Borrower!)

  • So nostalgic, back when I watched this on the VCR

  • Alan Menken is a genius. Everytime i LOVE a song, it's his.

  • this was the time when disney soundtracks were stunning!

  • My first ever bicycle was little mermaid themed:)

  • My sister was right, this movie is fantastic.

  • Getting my Disney on before Disney World....love this

  • this is my favorite score of ANY disney movie. they've outdone themselves with this one <3

  • i love this poster... was this the teaser poster to the movie? when this movie came out i was in umm 1st grade.

  • this is my fav part of the whole movie :D

  • The beginning makes me cry :(

  • This is so beautiful. Amazing. Something huge. Alan Menken - God!

  • I'm a guy, but I dont know why I love the music here!!!!

    PS: I'm so straight.

  • @fatizoo1000 xD No need to clarify that, it's beautiful music, and is appreciated by all :]

  • Love the flute solo in the beginning .So nostalgic!

  • TLM is made magical by its beautifully done score. This and The Lion King had the best scores (and some of the best songs) in Disney animated history in my opinion.

  • @Walshblazer47 but the LION KING music was not conducted by Alan Menken, it was a conducted by the one and only, Hans Zimmer.

  • @Hysteria200 Still, doesn't make a difference for me. They are both great scores fitting to the atmosphere of the story and drawing you into the events as if they were really happening in real life. That was the magic of old school Disney, which I tend to believe is slowly yet assuredly returning with Princess and the Frog and Tangled.

  • @Walshblazer47 uhhmmm..when u said. "TLM is made magical by its beautifully done score."

what does the score means to say? :)

    i dont really know........

  • @sarijamgreen I don't really understand you question

  • @Walshblazer47 uhhmmm, what does score mean? in your sentance.............

  • @sarijamgreen The background music

  • You cant find masterpeices like this anymore

  • This music is what made Disney great. After some years of trouble in the company, Ariel just made Disney to what it is today..but I don't like the "new" Disney with crap like Hannah Montana or High School Musical..

I miss Ariel, Aladdin and the Beauty and the Beast..they were so GREAT...!!!

  • alan menken and hans zimmer are the best composers ever!!!! the best disney music :)

  • it's so magical <3

  • This brings childhood memories...

  • :') I missed this film. I love it again.

  • perfect !!!!

  • I love alan menken. he's my favoriteeeeeeeeeeee composer:)<3

  • Brings me back to the earlier years of my life!

  • Comment removed

  • This music is so pure. I wish I were a mermaid.

  • @TheAnurag95 There's one bad thing being a mermaid.. you can't have sex lol

  • RIP Howard Ashman!

  • its beauty makes me cry!

  • This is one of the most beautiful scores Disney has done. Alan Menken is the man.

  • @bohemianchick411 I definitly agree! Bellissima!

  • @bohemianchick411 Don't forget Hans Zimmer and Jerry Goldsmith, both excellent composers. I'm still in love with The Lion King's and Mulan's soundtracks <3 And... who made Tarzan's?

  • @6HagareNo6Yumi6 Mark Mancina made music to Tarzan (and also Brother Bear)

  • @bohemianchick411 for being a homosexual he sure does make great music!
