that is crazy. if wood is not nearly perfectly straight, or if it hits a knot, that machine will slam that board with a ton of torque in a split second...far more than any person can resist (read: serious injury). In the modern world, there is NO reason to put yourself at risk like this. A simple feeding mechanism would help...
I have googled and searched and finally found a cheap simple wood chipper!!!! I want to chop pallet wood that may have some nails,how wood your machine work on occasional nails?I'm also looking for a simple concrete-rock crusher.
it sounds like a monster eating corn flakes!..lol....up to what diameter will it cut round hardwood reasonably? like 3 or4" or maybe a little larger? i thought it might be good for cutting limbs and brush. if this was set up on a side hill where a trailer or truck could be parked under it, it would save a lot of work. maybe even set it up with a roof over it, and let the wood fall in a pile under it. that would save tons of work! thanks
What's the largest timber you can put thru this?

Great chipper, but boy, add some sort of guard to that. Don't want to lose a limb.
Wayne, what did you do to get your truck up over 80 mph? Most gasifier trucks barely make 55 mph.
urgentcareguy3 8 months ago
That is a great system for chunking wood for a gasifier, great thinking!!

how fast can you run it??

@dirtydogvideo
Yes 3 or 4 " wood. Does best if wood is green.
I have added a flywheel on the input shaft and it runs much smoother now.
16-20 pounds of wood replaces a gallon of gasoline, video shows chopping about 30- 40 pounds
waynekeith01 1 year ago
@dirtydogvideo what do you do with the chunks of wood?
madpainter69 3 weeks ago
@madpainter69 burn them in a wood stove or gasifier. they are chopping boards to show how it works...but it will chop round wood also

Where did you find the knife? Was it custom or did you pull it off of an existing piece of equipment? Thanks
MatthewBanchero 1 year ago
@MatthewBanchero
The shear or knife is the truck wheel cut at an angle.
