I don't actually have a religion, and yes it is harder to not worry about death and a lot of uncertainty, so religion is also a good way for people to get through life and accept death. I respect others believes and what they think, but I myself don't have one, when you die you disappear, and when your alive, try make the most of it, is how I view it, rather simple.

The way I view religion is that is a thing that makes people happy in life. I tell you know, I am a Christian, but I'm kind of struggling on my path to Christ. But, I always wonder about the people who don't like religion and a see they are usually more depressed than people who do have a religion. Also, I see people who shun religions are a lot like racist people, because there isn't much of a difference between hating people because of their beliefs and their race, or even sexuality.
@BobFedex I would have to disagree with you. Some Atheists like me are struggling, however I doubt its because of religion. Also, I find it funny you think that non religious people are generally racist. I dont mean to offend anyone, but the South is both very religious and decently populated with racists as well. I however think its stupid to connect the two either way. In my experience as an Atheist, I have not ever been depressed because of religion. I just dont think about it.

Christianity defines God as an omnipotent and omniscient being. Given these two qualities, would God have the ability to stop an event (which we will label event A) from happening and replace it with event B? If so, God would not be omniscient since he did no know that A would not happen and B would. If not, God has an inability and is therefore not omnipotent. Therefore a being cannot be both omnipotent and omniscient, meaning that the Christian perception of God is false.

I'm half Jewish, half Christian. I've never been to a religious service. In my opinion, the people who say "Oh you're a horrible person, you don't believe what we do! Burn in Hell!" Or whatever, are hypocrites. Most, if not all, religions believe in being kind to all, yet if they're different, they say things like that. I know not all people do that, but there are some who do. Religion should be about making humanity better, not about convincing us to choose sides and fight.

My friend was pocked on for being jewish and people would make fun of him by making holacaust jokes and calling him a gay jew (everyone thinks he is gay because he dances,which i have no problem with) and it pisses me off to see that people will go that deep and start making fun of a jewish person by bringing up the holacaust is just wrong. I use to be agnostic, then I tried to get into Wicca. I decided Wicca wasn't really for me, so I became Pagan. Now I'm becoming Asatru, which is similar to Paganism.

Atheism is not believe in any way shape or form that we cam from a higher power at all. That we evolved from miniature cells floating through space over billions of years which I think is quite outlandish in my opinion. My family shuns me for it or get violent because they are completely against it. My friends and I get along completely fine, My boyfriend is Muslim, my best friend is Agnostic, and we have huge diversity in our group (I think around 10 different religions are there), but we get along amazingly. I'm an atheist (ex-Christian), and this is my thing. I totally agree with you on the casino analogy, but in that same regard, I don't give the upper hand to ancient stories and religious claims. I give the upper hand to what I DO know, and as of yet, no god or religion has been proven true. I don't need a god to keep me moral, because if I were moral just because I feared a supreme being, then I wasn't really moral to begin with. I go by proven facts and my own moral code, no gods required.

Coming from a strong southern babtist area, I understand what you mean by corupt churches. The church in my hometown used to be great, everbody loved each other and nobody i the church was corupted. Eventually the church became obsessed with social status. I've been to a few churches that I didn't really agree with. I was born and raised a Christian. When I was 12 I was a fairly hardcore Atheist. At the start of last year I started to attend a Youth Group (by choice) but I always felt like an outcast with not believing. Most of my friends are not religious, each for their own reason. But one of my closest friends is Christian and just because we believe two different things doesn't make us any less friends. I am now 13, and I really don't care about it anymore. Whatever makes the individual happy.
Between the ages of 12 and 13 I was pushed around a lot by peer pressure, which is the main reason I decided to stop caring about it altogether. Because not caring makes me happy.

As an Atheist, I do not believe in god, but I respect other peoples religions, I was raised from being a baby to being in about 4th grade as Christian. In 5th grade I started my path to being Atheist, I was certain that Atheism was right in 6th grade, but I still respect other peoples religion. My mother was raised Christian and my step-father (I don't know my real dad) was raised Christian. My parents both respect my beliefs as an Atheist and I respect theirs.

@PinkWeavile1990 Hinduism is not one religion, rather a way of life that stemmed from something called "Brahminism" or at least thats what I was taught... Im not hindu myself, Im agnostic, and perhaps not best to talk to you about this, however, some Hindu beliefs such as reincarnation based on your karma to achieve "Moksha", a state of spiritual enlightenment, which make it one of my favourite religions to learn about. @dreadfulusername I don't watch fox news, most of what I learnt was from a sweet old R.S. teacher, who sometimes used phrases I didn't understand, what with being a skepticcal agnostic, as I said, that's how I was taught. The reason I say it isn't a religion as such is because it's taught as a way of life, and is a branching term used for many different and often opposing beliefs, so isn't structured as an average religion, besides, a religion is defined as a set of beliefs, not having a deity.

In Denmark, the priests salary is paid by the state, the donations are for the actual church, and the preach i about the bible, not about how bad people we are. i think that´s a good way to have it sorted out
Hey Sly, I really appreciate this video....I've gone through various religion phases myself. I felt like God wasn't helping g I went through an agnosric and atheist phase, I eventually decided I just felt better with God and Jesus as my savior. I will admit that the charity work that they do is sometimes very helpful.. but you don't need religion to be charitable. This is the past to me: science vs. religion. Who do I agree w/? Science, because there is so much more evidence of scientific stuff and religion is based off 1000 yr old books. However I am not against religion in any Way, it is pretty much the simpler way to view creation of life.

My problem with religion is its effect politics and rules! My dad said that he was told to keep them separate. I live in Aus and our current PM isn't Christian or married but thinks that marriage is between a man and a woman. The statics here show that over half the population doesn't have a problem with same sex marriage!
I was a Christian for 13 years, since I was born. After that, I went through a dark period where my family was dying, I was changing, and I would pray and pray and nothing good happened, so I lost all faith and went atheist. I started to believe there was no such thing as a god. My cousin dragged me to a Youth Group, and with time I became a Christian again. I respect all religions, especially now that I have a different perspectives on it.

Most people hate on me at school because I'm an atheist and they call me racist. I'm only in middle school (7th grade) and it really makes my ay horrible when this happens. Jesus is like Santa Claus. For the first years of your life your parents convince you that Santa exists. For the first years of your life your parents convince you Jesus exists. With Santa, your parents leave notes and cookies which makes you believe. With Jesus people convince you the Bible is evidence for his existence. Santa doesn't exist, therefore the same is with Jesus.

I'm half Jewish, half Christian. I've never been to a religious service. In my opinion, the people who say "Oh you're a horrible person, you don't believe what we do! Burn in Hell!" Or whatever, are hypocrites. Most, if not all, religions believe in being kind to all, yet if they're different, they say things like that. I know not all people do that, but there are some who do. Religion should be about making humanity better, not about convincing us to choose sides and fight.

My friend was pocked on for being jewish and people would make fun of him by making holacaust jokes and calling him a gay jew (everyone thinks he is gay because he dances,which i have no problem with) and it pisses me off to see that people will go that deep and start making fun of a jewish person by bringing up the holacaust is just wrong. Atheism is not believe in any way shape or form that we cam from a higher power at all. That we evolved from miniature cells floating through space over billions of years which I think is quite outlandish in my opinion. My family shuns me for it or get violent because they are completely against it. I give the upper hand to what I DO know, and as of yet, no god or religion has been proven true. Coming from a strong southern babtist area, I understand what you mean by corupt churches. The church in my hometown used to be great, everbody loved each other and nobody i the church was corupted. Eventually the church became obsessed with social status. I've been to a few churches that I didn't really agree with. I was born and raised a Christian. When I was 12 I was a fairly hardcore Atheist. At the start of last year I started to attend a Youth Group (by choice) but I always felt like an outcast with not believing. Most of my friends are not religious, each for their own reason. But one of my closest friends is Christian and just because we believe two different things doesn't make us any less friends. I am now 13, and I really don't care about it anymore. Whatever makes the individual happy.

As an Atheist, I do not believe in god, but I respect other peoples religions, I was raised from being a baby to being in about 4th grade as Christian. In 5th grade I started my path to being Atheist, I was certain that Atheism was right in 6th grade, but I still respect other peoples religion. Im not hindu myself, Im agnostic, and perhaps not best to talk to you about this, however, some Hindu beliefs such as reincarnation based on your karma to achieve "Moksha", a state of spiritual enlightenment, which make it one of my favourite religions to learn about. @dreadfulusername I don't watch fox news, most of what I learnt was from a sweet old R.S. teacher, who sometimes used phrases I didn't understand, what with being a skepticcal agnostic, as I said, that's how I was taught. The reason I say it isn't a religion as such is because it's taught as a way of life, and is a branching term used for many different and often opposing beliefs, so isn't structured as an average religion, besides, a religion is defined as a set of beliefs, not having a deity.

Hey Sly, I really appreciate this video....I've gone through various religion phases myself. I felt like God wasn't helping g I went through an agnosric and atheist phase, I eventually decided I just felt better with God and Jesus as my savior. I live in Aus and our current PM isn't Christian or married but thinks that marriage is between a man and a woman. I was a Christian for 13 years, since I was born. After that, I went through a dark period where my family was dying, I was changing, and I would pray and pray and nothing good happened, so I lost all faith and went atheist. I started to believe there was no such thing as a god. My cousin dragged me to a Youth Group, and with time I became a Christian again. I respect all religions, especially now that I have a different perspectives on it.

Dude this is really amazing. It helps to see someone else who respects and understand these things. I'm stuck in the situation you mentioned with my parents forcing me to go to church while my views are like yours where I believe in Jesus as my savior, but I currently am put off about church for reasons you mentioned as well as some others. Anyway it's really cool what your doing with these "No No topics" keep it up Sly (:

Most people hate on me at school because I'm an atheist and they call me racist. I'm only in middle school (7th grade) and it really makes my ay horrible when this happens. One day i even skipped school because of it! Thanks Sly, for making my days better and for making me feel better about what i believe in.

And the reason people see me as a "relgious hater" is that I consider people who say the know the truth when they don't, ignorant. They don't understand. I get seen as a racist aswell.... but I just love stereotypes and think they are one of the best things ever, without them, comedy would not be what it is today (family guy for example)

I'm agnostic, but am verging towards atheism because it makes the most sence to ME. I often get slandered for "hating all religions" but what I believe is that don't say somethings the truth if you don't know. And I also strongly disagree with people voicing their religion in public, preachers for example because it's your own choice and they're trying to turn you.
I mean sure, there could be a god...... but the chances are infinity to one. LITERALLY. There are infinite possibilties. HOMIES<3

I'm an agnostic. I have been told I'm wrong over and over by many, but i have a good reason. We don't know whats out there, we don't even know if aliens exist. So fighting over a topic we will never understand seems pointless to me. Now though it seems now though people are being divided by religion in America. For example, Kentucky tried to get Islam banned in six city's. We need to focus on bigger things, like curing disease and stopping war. This is my belief......whats yours?

Jesus is like Santa Claus. For the first years of your life your parents convince you that Santa exists. For the first years of your life your parents convince you Jesus exists. With Santa, your parents leave notes and cookies which makes you believe. With Jesus people convince you the Bible is evidence for his existence. Santa doesn't exist, therefore the same is with Jesus.
