@FABLE2MANAIC Nope, its saying that we all strive to do the same things at the beginning of our lives, but then towards the end, they slowly get bad, or they branch out into different things
To me this song is about the differences between peaceful loving individuals and power hungry individuals. As the video shows the one friend is content with the life he has regardless of money or power. He has fun loving, happy people around him and he's happy with that. "I can keep rhythm with no metronome" Something that doesn't have a lot of power but he's content with. On the other hand you have the power hungry individual, who gets a taste and craves more power.
could u guys check out my channel i have good videos but i really dont have a lot of subscribers so if u guys could please check out my channel and leave feedback and subscribe!
To me, this song is telling us that we are all capable of doing noble things, but we are equally capable of doing great evils. This concept is very true and has been demonstrated in Zimbardo's Prison experiment and Milgram's shock experiment. We have to actively monitor our behavior and recognize when something is wrong. Don't abdicate your power to an authority. Don't group-think. Be an individual. Be a hero.
I don't think this song has to do so much with the government. I think It's about how we, as human beings are capable of so much, peace and destruction.Any human can and has done every action he states in the lyrics. It's pretty crazy when you think about it, knowing you can do anything...makes you feel invincible
@DarkPrinceNH5570 But you can. And that's the point. We can all do these things. We all have that choice or will have that choice. And it all starts with the words "I can" (as shown by the lyrics "I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars..."). Humans are versatile creatures, and we all have the power to create or to destroy.
Just love this song.. Its message, and its simplicity. The Piccicato at the beginning represents (in my opinion) simplicity, however as the song goes on it becomes more and more intense and complicated, just like life.
It amazes me that people think this song is deep. Like if Serj Tankian wrote songs for Cake and didn't try to be clever or insightful but still wanted to pander to the Buck Fush crowd, Handlebars would be the end result.
Just like The Dobligator I had my own thoughts on what I thought this song was about. After watching the video, a new idea came- We all have the power to be great. To lead a "nation in a holocaust" but... it comes with bloodshed and consequences... It could happen to you or me. Interesting video, awesome song. Been listening to it for +3 years now. haha
Well more and more haters does any one get it its not the goverment its big buisnes it was no longer the gov. If you saw on the front of the sheilds part of the USSR symble which means comunisum... Need I say more
When I just listened to this song and its lyrics, I had developed my own meaning to it and what I had thought the writers intended. If this video truly reflects the writers' intensions then I was wrong.
Government is supposed to be "we the people." It's not the problem. Huge corporations that infiltrate the government for their own agendas are the problem.
why the fuck does every one have to be so stupid?,if people actually new what the government does they would be fucking sick and want to kill them just like i do thumb's up if you do to,fuck the government..
God dang it do people actually look stuff up before they type there are two forms of big gov. The one that ya is run by the corperations but the other is where the gov. has power over corp. thats what we need they can make corp. bring out jobs back from over seas
recall the goverment recall the house and the sanate they have destroyed are once pround country and have destroyed the world post "recall the goverment" on every page on youtube
Goverment will not kill us, governments of the world got corrupt and tooken over with Corperate bankers/private companys. Thats the whole point of this song, he swaps mid song at 2:30, pointing how much power is to much power.
@Fonzy4528 A good majority of this countries issues lie with the government. If the government had less power so would the corps seeing as how corporations go through the government to get their power. You need to think a few steps further. Diagnosing a problem is like playing chess, if you look at the immediate threat and deal with it you often leave yourself wide open for a hidden ulterior motive. The corps use the government to rule us. less government = less corporation power.
Sad part is.. this song is true 100% Resident Evil is real people. Realize we're the zombies useless to the planet now to the people with the most money.

@AdolfHippster Even though people are saying it's about big corporations and gov., it's really about the human condition. We look at corporations and gov. as separate "entities" even though they are created by people like us. The song is really about how we all have a choice to affect the world we live in. And it all starts with the words "I can." We could do all of the things he listed, or we can choose not to. The song represents a battle within ourselves.
I believe this can happen and cause trouble but it is going to be a war between the Outkats in society, the wealthy vs the government and such a revolution should be given a name The V-R3VOLUTION join or be destroyed
Put out the truth for people there is no america there are no countries just humanity and even with that humanity is self destructive we all have a voice inside wether you quel that voice or let it burst out I only hope your voice is one of peace not war
This song is beyond words... but I wish more people would listen to the song and not argue about insignificant topics that aren't even relevant to the priceless lesson; about how greed, power and pride can consume a person and destroy an amazing bond of brotherhood, and that they won't stop until it's too late.
You guys I have an English project! I don't know if anyone could help me but it would mean soo much!! Does anyone know what how this song is satirical and what is the true meaning of this song? IF ANYONE can HELP at all that would mean so much and it would be very helpful! Thanks everyone who sees this and if you could thumb it up so people could see it would mean a lot. Thanks!
You should read the lyrics and try to think about what they mean. Its about the 'freedom' of the western world, and capitalism and the corrupt systems we live in, that are fuelled by greed @Misteryodavid
@Misteryodavid The message is that when you let the government get TOO big and have too much power things can get out of hand. I would guess that satirical in that the two friends are showing their lives off to each other. One is "I'm a famous rapper, I have all the money I need and lead a happy life" while the other is "I lead multiple businesses and have all this power". You get what I'm saying?
@gewoonikke1113 Well the corporate friend begins with companies, bet then takes over the government. This is represented by him saying "I can lead a nation with a microphone" and the background changing from the corporate sign to two American flags.
Hey people who like this song! YOU should go listen to their other songs like: Stand-up; The Moon; or There's a war going on for your mind. Great songs.
