Not bad but on 'like a stone' you dont have to use tremelo. If so then a whammy but the real trick is (if you have the option) to turn up the 'rate' on your amplifier. Most fender amps have this option.
@klxghoist Well seeing as the LP has 2 volumes and a three way, yea. Just turn the volume down on one of the pickups and toggle back and forth, this will create the "kill effect"
I read the description and the dude said he spent $50 on a killswitch, I spent about $5. WTF did he do? Plus you don't need 2 volume knobs, you can also have a 2 way switch (or on off push button if you wanna be Buckethead) and wire it to a live and a ground so switch on one way is on, the other is off. I love how the description says there's only 1 way to do this.
@cheesemaster5 I spent 50 on mine on a strat..it is better to have an actual toggle then a button because with the button it's plain on off and with the toggle killswitch it is on of on ...3 way switch...gives more of a unique gurgle sound!
@cheesemaster5 If you a 3-way pickup selector style switch, which looks good with the guitar but is also built robust enough, you need additional electronics too. A killswitch doesn't interrupt the signal, because that creates popping sound like when plugging the guitar in, but links it to the ground (in middle position, if you want an on-off-on switch). But the pickup switch connects either pin 1+2, pin 2+3, or middle position, pin 1+2+3. The switch on itself can't make the on-ground-on layout.
@DavidSatira Mine doesn't pop, idk what point you're trying to make. I'm getting the same exact sound as Tom's, the only difference that I don't need 2 pickups or 2 volume knobs. I don't see how it has to be exactly identical if I'm getting the same results through a different method for less than $5
FAIL at 0:10 he does not use a classic jim dunlod wah, he use the ancient jim dunlop Original Crybaby wah wah (check it at jimdunlop's website they are not the same)
@luiszv14 I know not the actually-named CLASSIC Dunlop Wah, But a CLASSIC one as in an ORIGINAL ONE OF THE FIRST like you mentioned. Thanks for the input but there were no fails on my part, just a misunderstanding.
@chubbymosher700 Ibanez made a line of guitars named the talman with lipstick pickups. Ibanez was trying to get rid of a hum so they added an internal pickup to try to cancel it out. after they tried it Tom thought the hum was cool and decided to buy one of the "mis-makes". by manipulating the TONE knob (not the volume) he can make those sounds
your killswitch description isn't completely accurate, I put one on a guitar with only one pickup, I wired both ends of the killswitch onto the metal thingy (I don't know the actual name) for the input jack.
well by fender i meant generally all guitars without 2 pickups with 2 separate volume control knobs. And also, that is how a modded guitar's killswitch is made. Thanks for commenting!
The switch was cheap but i had to get a hole drilled in the lower horn of the guitar and woodwork is expensive (plus I didn't want to fuck it up by doing it myself.)
With no wood work involved

50 for a killswitch, youre screwed, you can build it in yourself for under 5

Depending on the amp settings I get a popping sound when I killswitch with a manually installed killswitch. It's still a great switch

@dreamforfreedom that still wouldn't cost $50. Toggle switches don't cost very much

@cheesemaster5 its not the actual switch its the installation that costs money, They have to do woodwork most of the time
