Brilliant. I taped and still have the first series of this on VHS when it was shown on ABC TV in Australia in late 1998. It was never repeated until years later it turned up on pay TV for a very quick run of both series. In Australia this was re-titled "The Boss", not sure why but all my episodes have this title.
This was such a great show...been trying to find it on DVD for years (raretv.com seems to be a meat recipe website these days?!) The BBC puts all sorts of modern rubbish out on DVD but don't seem to want to give us the real classics (still no full release of The Goodies or Not The Nine O Clock News for example). What's with that?
I used to love this series ( but none of my mates did !! ) .. and thanks to Racky105 for pointing me in the right direction to buy a copy - I've been looking for years !!
Anyone remember one of the best episodes here, when Jim gets his feet glued to two square pieces of carpet and forces his way back up ( via pushing David Schneider in the face ) from nearly falling over due to the fact he had to shake hands with a prospective investor! It was gold!
@Racky105 I just found it on there too! £8.99 for the pilot episode and both series on a 2 disc set, brilliant! have wanted this on DVD for ages, was really really funny from what I remember.
Good to see this show on Youtube. I only ever managed to tape the first series when it was shown on ABC TV in Australia (and even then it was re-named "The Boss") way back in 1998.
this show was really funny yet is not repeated. i cant understand it, uk gold repeats "last of the summer wine" and "only fools and horses every day. there are so many shows that get left on the shelf.
Hilarious. Do you have any more? This is one of my favourite comedies. Have tried to contact Hat Trick productions to get DVDs of this series - no luck. I worked in a bank in the 80s, and the sort of slow witted buffoons that I worked with are the same as the character in The Peter Principle. Whoever wrote the scripts MUST have worked in a bank! Many thanks

BBC is notoriously bad about losing track of old stuff.
