Where are the comments now???? Hey Gonzo, you gonna VOTE NO now?? I DON"T THINK SO!!!! Mee Lin - PHL is the clock still ticking????? Where are the UNION brothers and sisters now??? Funny how you post a video, but not one union bro or sis came out to talk to your FELLOW UNION members.. WHAT A JOKE... How much did they take from the TWU? Let's see what the Judge gives you now..
the last time I picked up my $100.00 AIP check,I got a candy bar..It was a $100,000 bar...It still stings when I think about it...That was a joke on us..Another thing, did you know that a FSC in DFW that is topped out makes 60 cents less per hour than the average hourly worker in the state of Texas..?
Hey have you guys read the letter written by John Donnelly from the twu international? Its basically a presentation showing us that we should vote yes. Leave it to our international to spend our dues money on a presentation to argue managements position. With these slugs representing you what chance do you have? Vote no but the next offer will be worse just wait and see what chicken little and co will come back with next time.
@Theinsidiousblotch - WHERE CAN WE GET AHOLD OF THIS LETTER-PLZ POST FOR THE UNION MEMBERS TO SEE WHAT TWU REALLY IS SINCE 83...A BUSINESS PROTECTING TWU COFFERS,NOT PROTECTING UNION MEMBERS-GO TEAMSTERS!!!
This is the same TA that the TWU negotiating committee turned down in august. Dave gives a great example of what retiree medical means to us on the TWU LOCAL 501 youtube page. I hope Sidney and Darrin are explaining it the same way to their membership. Vote yes and have fun paying over 500 bucks a month for retiree medical. Be smart...VOTE NO
Negotiating committee's seem to be a formality. The real work seem's to be done behind the curtains. "Work together, win together" was not intended for the common worker as most think, but rather a war cry from the company and the TWU.
At least in bankruptcy, AA will be forced to open their books to the Unions, and public.I can guarantee u they DONT want that, and have been fighting that forever. I voted no in 2003, simply cuz they didnt want to open their books to public scrutiny. Transparency= Honesty.Hidden= Deception and Lies
Who stands to lose in bankruptcy? We all do, but some lose more than others. Ill believe that AA goes to bankruptcy when I see it. Too many assets to declare bankruptcy, or wed be there like others
So you think its the workers that are bringing down AA? What planet do u live on? Who has made all the decisions for this company? Not TWU for certain, or the pilots, FA, or mechanics Unions either. Maybe if we shed some management of this company, it will be profitable again. Ive never seen such a useless, underworked, overpaid group such as that in my entire life. How many CSMs, mid-management, and CEOs do we actually need for God's sake. Get an education before posting ur drivel.
IN 2003 AA GOT EVERYTHING THEY WANTED W/CONCESSIONS..AND SAID IT'LL ENABLE AA TO SURVIVE...8 YEARS LATER,SAME STORY, AND I DID VOTE YES IN 2003,I ACTUALLY TRUSTED AA(AND TWU) BACK THEN..NEVER AGAIN.WHY IS IT ALWAYS ,AND I MEAN ALWAYS,LABORS FAULT?? WE'VE GOT EXCESS BAG FEES,BOARD EARLY FEES,SIT BY THE WIHDOW FEES...IT'S THE SAME STORY OVER & OVER,IT'S JUST NEVER ENOUGH "FROM YOU GUYS"
Vote NO and AA goes bankrupt and you're all out of a job and AE gets more jobs! Vote No! Overpaid and underworked. The TWU alone is bringing down AA due to high labor costs.
@im4point WRONG on some many accounts. If AA goes into bankruptcy that does NOT mean everyone is out of a job. If you vote yes AA could still file bankruptcy and guess what...the kickoff point on more givebacks with a judge isn't what we have now but this POS TA. So it is far better to sit tight and see what happens with the pilots and FAs and their contracts. The TWU will not bring down AA...the leadership at AA with their mismanagement has and will be their downfall.
@im4point SORRY WE DONT SEE EYE TO EYE-- TWO THINGS RUIN A AIRLINE: 1)BAD ROUTES & 2)BAD MGMT. PERIOD. ARPEY HAS HAD THE HELM SINCE 2003,AND AA (SUPPOSEDLY) HAS LOST MONEY MOST OF THE QUARTERS SINCE..FOR 8 YEARS,A CEO WHOSE COMPANY LOSES MONEY..KEEPS HIS JOB....GETS BONUSES...AND SAYS HIS LABOR COSTS ARE "OUT OF LINE W/THE NDUSTRY"??? I GUESS I DONT GET IT
You guys forget very important piece of this puzzle and is the TWU REP. that guys are company or not. WHO IN THE BLUE HELL GOING TO PRESENT THAT KIND OF PROPOSAL JUST SAY NO, NO,NO,NO
Do not fall for the doom and gloom theory that was sold to use last last time
we saw this movie before,WE LOST MILLIONS AND THEY TOOK MILLIONS IN BONUSES, WHAT DID WE GET IN ORD A COOKIE ICE CREAM AND CANDY BAR,any time a company spends money telling you your about your TA you better believe you will be getting screwed.VOTE NO to the DOOM AND GLOOM THEORY.
ATTN ALL CLERKS WHEN YOU GET YOUR BALLOT PLZ PHOTOCOPY , CHECK VOTE NO AND WEAR PROUDLY IN YOUR GREEN SAFETY VEST CLEAR POCKET...IF YOU WEAR YOUR ACTUAL BALLOT,YOU RUN THE RISK OF SOME BROWN NOSER STEALING YOUR BALLOT IF VEST IS TAKEN OFF TEMPORARILY....ALSO,IF THERE IS ANY DAMAGE,MARKS ,ETC ON THE ACTUAL BALLOT WHEN TURNED IN, YOUR BALLOT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED & TOSSED IN THE GARBAGE.
@dribeker THX FOR SAYING HOW IT IS-WE NEED MORE DIFF TITLE GROUPS TO SPEAK UP & STAND UP AGAINST AA & THE UNION...REMEMBER,AA IS ONLY DOING WHAT THE TWU LETS IT, AND IN ALL REALITY,ITS THE TWU THATS THE PROBLEM....GOD I WISH WE HAD THE TEAMSTERS NOW
To the person who wants to know what ASM'S are, that term stands for"available seat miles'...1 plane w/100 seats, flying ONCE A DAY,is 100 asm's a day...flown for 1 yr, that plane produces 36,500 asm's annually. However, now comes the great B.S. act of AA...they say they want to double the ASM'S flown by AE, which AA currently says is around 6-7 %....In reality,it's already around 12-15%, for AA doesent include new routes flown by AE since 2003 concessions..lying M.F.ers,but did i expect truth?
Next issue..shift differential=In 2003 we were told 1,2 and 3 cents were left in place "so we can build upon it in the future, there's something in place"...i dont know about you, but 8 years should be a long enough time to have improvement over a measley 1,2 and 3 cents per hour. Next,AA stresses that our Pensions are intact and insinuated if we approve this rounf of concessions, they'll be left alone...Per Ft. Worth newspaper 11/9, the 2003 concessions guaranteed pensions..not 2011.
I'll touch on 2 issues(but there are many)(1)Monthly medical comparison between the union groups>Blue Cross Blue Shield.,family value plus plan--Pilots$186.27/mo...F/A'S$142.64/mo.....BUT TWU $277.50/MO??? WTF????? THATS 50% MORE THAN THE F/A'S...WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE??? AND AA HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY YOUR MON MED PREM WILL FREEZE FOR 4 YEARS?? If anything, twu members are owed $12-15 thousand each,if you go back till 2003,based on overcharged + interest. next posting.....
@lavfoood I dislike AA with a passion but the fault does not lay with them on our medical cost skyrocketing. I blame the TWU international and the local presidents that were in office at the time. The Pilots and FA unions negotiated a cap on the amount they're members would pay. The TWU didn't have that foresight or could careless about its members. Truth of the matter is the TWU work groups have been subsidizing the Pilots and FAs medical since the 2003 givebacks.
This TA is nothing but a JOBS LOST/UNION BUSTING TA, we will be give up funds and jobs. How can a negotiation committee bring back a TA that will give up jobs and funds. Good jobs on this video, there will be more to come.
People are waking up, however I think it may be to late. I've been talking to some of the younger people at the protest's and a lot of them don't have a clue. instead of attaching them i feel we should try and re-educate them. I wrote a song and have been passing it out so check it out and do the same. it's on my channel "who got the money by Parker" and let's FIGHT!!!
All i have to say is who so ever Votes yes on the TA must not have common sense. All that we gave back in 2003 is not enough? We are not getting 1/4 of what we gave back and we lose more jobs on top of it. We need to stand together on this espceially in the large stations VOTE NO. If we end up closing smaller stations and the bumping begins you then will be saying I should have VOTED NO. JUST DO IT VOTE NO.
OOHH,and 4000 thousands people have seen this and no one has a said on it??? Come on people show some balls....Luis A.Torres....MIA..local 568...employee number 180897...
I lovr to see the solidarity being shown here.We must stop corporate greed, millions given to ceos for doing nothing,Carty walked out of here after buying a bankrupted airline. This must stop.Im starting a new campaing, bring in your ballot, lets fill it out together,at least i will know who the scabs are when the time comes.Vote NO!!!
@elviskorr1 I am educated...which is why i'm voting NO. The FSCs need to band together and throw the TWU ( Totally Worthless Union) out on their butts and get a real union in here. Don't worry cause if this passes the TWU will try to sell you some more crappy insurance policy's, at a premium, to make up for what you gave back to that craphole of a company called AA.
As hard as management is pushing FOR this, it cant be good for the workers. Weve seen the results of our last giveback, Ill vote my conscience (NO!!!!) and hold out for either a better offer....or arbitration and open books by our company if they arent smart enough to make sure we get back all they took and then some. Lets see some transparency and honesty in our company again. Those who vote for this TA get what they deserve.........John D. Scoggins II, SEA Cargo Agent/FSC and TWU Steward.
Its a simple transfer of wealth like we see in so many other US corporations. Take money from the people who DO the work, and give it to those who dont, or to those who are NOT accountable for their work. Ill vote no, and as a Shop Steward in SEA, continue to urge other members to vote no as well. They can do better, and you know what? My family deserves better after all the sacrifices weve made over the past 8 yrs...I didnt see those execs give up anything.
As a 22 yr employee, who has watched mismanagement of AA since the leaving of CEO Robert Crandall, Im very upset over the givebacks employees have made to help this company. Furthermore the Company's stance on dealing in good faith after 2003 is a dispicable lack of integrity. How can AA ask for so many concessions without offering something substantial in return? Are we to stand by and watch them give another year of bonuses to themselves for their efforts? I think not.
As for the so called "raise".....You pass this 4 (really 8) year contract and we will be financing our own raises with the money AA gets back from the pre-funding company match (plus interest) that they get to keep. As of now that pre-funding money you put in, the match, and the interest is ALL your money. It is also bankruptcy PROTECTED.
How can anyone that is a "supposed" union men bring this POS TA back to the membership in good conscience. Saying that the TWU wanted the membership to have a say is a cop out. Sidney Chickenez and Darin 'Tiny Tears' Pierce talked a great game but dropped the ball..bigtime. One has to wonder if they are going to get rewarded like Tim (Gillespie) Slurpespie was for the 2003 givebacks. Quid pro quo TWU style.
