  • these slides are off the bomb lol im going soon for my bday!!

  • I LOVE THIS RIDE<3333333333333333333

  • Best ride ever <3

  • @HideandSeekable Won't argue about that!

  • i hope they do let you do the new ones, i rode them today and holy sh!t i had a panic attack and was hyper ventilating when it started the count down, i couldnt keep my eyes open far to much water in the face. But i think that due to the design of them they wont let you take a camera on them, you cant sit up and you have to keep your arms crossed, the tubes are very small.

  • u gonna do cyclone?

  • @linebro I plan to try Cyclone and the New Sky Screamer slides next time I am there... which is usually mid-winter. Look forward to it!

  • @LakeNipissing thanks

  • Hey, have you been on the Cyclone yet? I haven't, but it looks pretty damn awesome.

  • i went on this and its freaking scary, it feels like your gonna faceplant

  • i went on that and hurt myself by landing wrong.

  • @outlawm1 :O that slide attendant lied to me today haha i asked her if anyone had ever been hurt on it and she said no as she shoved my little sled down and i screamed like a b!tch haha

  • @XxXRedBunniXxX It's not that scary... there's a moment of "oh, crap!" when you first get pushed onto the slide, but otherwise, it's fine. And the big water slide is called Twister. :)

  • haha who turned their volume down when he started climbing the stairs?

  • @tacotimeding Yeah, tell me about it... stupid "automatic" level control for the audio recording on the camera! Never seems to get it right!

  • sick! it's like hydro planning

  • That was like a Call Of Duty Death...lol

  • what is the least crowded day to go? New Years Day?

  • @BlogsbytheDay Monday - Thursday, November - February (not including the Christmas / New Year school break). ;)

  • I Remember a Kid Breaking his ankle bad, he was right in front of me.

And I was Like OH FUCK . But then i went on it was legit :)

  • Best slide eva!!!!!!!!!!!! Vote thumbs up if u think this slide rulz

  • OMG i went on this slide today with my best friend zoe, i was really really scared at first like i conserd not going on it but then when i went on it i loved it, it is my favourite slide now we went on it 2 times after that :) lol it is really steep thought when you first go on it and you get lots of butterflies in your stomack but then you get used to it!

  • UGH I hate this one. Went down ONCE .When I got to the bottom I couldn`t move. They had to get me into a wheelchair and they thought I wasn`t going to be able to walk again . ): This stupid slide has cost me TONS of money in back therapy in the past 6 years . I was going to sure, but my other was already in the middle of a lawsuit. haha. ugh ):

  • LOL! I like the "time to die"

It's hard to reach the end line.

  • That looks really fun :)

  • @MissGigiRocks101 It is a lot of fun! This is one of the slides I will go on over and over and not get tired of it (or pay the price with a sore neck or back). The bonus is there aren't so many stairs to climb like there are for the higher slides like Sky Screamer, Nessie's Revenge, Twister etc. The biggest disappointment, is the Thunderbolt is one of last slides to remain closed on weekdays until the staff levels are high enough to have attendants at all of the slides. Usually open on weekends.

  • OH MY GOSH RIGHT WHEN I FLEW OFF THE END OF THIS SLIDE I WIPED OUT AND SKIPPED ACROSS THE WATER ><

  • 1:45 OUCH!!!

  • hahaha i remember 4 years ago a 20 year old chick or so when on this and her bra came off =)

  • @KurtiZSiK Hopefully you were in a position with a good vantage point, such as the hot tubs by the Thunderbolt splashdown pool, to witness such an event. :)

  • fuck you thats my moms sis bitch i was 7 when it heppen

  • Lol this slide looks boring but when you go down it seems as if its going so fast that you loose breath at the last second. xD favourite slide next to the blue bullet

  • this one is dangerous.. i saw this one guy and he broke something on it :O

  • of course there has to be a gnarly drain right as you come off the slide..........

  • LOL LAKENPISSING IM GOING HERE IN 2 HOURS I HIOE I WILL HAVE FUN LOL THOUGH DUDE IM 12 AND I CAN BENCH 75-100

  • ive gon down in 3 times thats all anymore im afraid ill wipe out thumbs up if u agree

  • That scared the sh** out of me!!

  • looks like ur birth day is over haha mine comes in nov.10 ima go there

  • weak

  • imagine wiping out ON the slide......OUCH!!!!!!!

  • fatality at end

  • where is the west edmonton mall? i dont remember if its in canada or what?

  • this look like fun!

  • what are the little circles at the end of the ride???

  • O my gosh! This slide gives you the butterflies SO BAD!!! And you have to lean forward down it!! THe first time i leaned back, and I wiped out. OUCH

  • 3½feet so its 1 meter -/+ ?

  • The first time i didnt get a whip out i slipped n bash my head on the floor X.x

  • gon on it when i was 7 years old :)

  • this looks like the most boring slide there but then again ive never been on it ...yet im going there for my birthday on march 20! Sooooooooo exited!

  • Nowhere near the highest, but maybe the most fun out of all the slides, because it is quite different than the rest, since the slide is not the main attraction, but skipping across the water a good distance without losing control of the sled and wiping out.

  • @LakeNipissing

omg, I went on this and slid all the way onto land and stopped by the snack stand, lol. I wondered if anyone beat my record.

  • Years ago, (maybe 15 to 20), so many riders would hit the wall of the garden across the floor from the end of the splashdown pool, that crash pads used to be installed on the walls of the garden (seen in the distance at 0:22 and closer at 1:18). The staff often store extra sleds to the right of the garden, by the exit doors. One time I went down the right side and flew across the tiled floor into a shopping cart that for whatever reason was near the exit doors. Now they have mats to create drag

  • @tashona123 ITS SO FRIGGIN SCARY

  • @tashona123lol thats wat i think 2,

theres a slide where u can sit on this little um floaty thing..

then u get strapped in2 the track sort of like a rollercoaster and u slide across th water

  • @tashona123 my moms b-day is march 20

  • @tashona123 lol im going on my birthday on the march 25

  • Haha that ones awesome! nice wipeout!

  • I remember going on this when you had to carry the sled up to the top. Good times.

  • I remember it like that too. From 1986 to ???

What was most amazing is that 7 year olds were able to carry those 25 LB sleds up the stairs on their backs!

  • I did it when I was nine I think. But I went to the waterpark on friday, and I was going to go on the thunderbolt, but it had a huge line the whole time I was there, so I went on the Screamer a bunch.

  • Three and a half feet? That's not very deep but it sure looked deep to me when I was there and I was tall enough to go on it.

  • This, nessies, and the screamer are my fav! Nice wipeout~lol

  • Believe me, the wipeout was not done deliberately - WITH the camera!!

This video was the FIRST time I used the new camera, I expected it to be totalled when I wiped out and it bounced off the sled and sank to the floor of the splashdown pool. I discovered that the Olympus WP550 is a tough little camera!!

  • do u just sit and try not to move

  • That's right. Hold the handles of the sled and lean forward (best way to avoid a wipe-out). Or have fun and do crazy stuff!

  • My family went to west Ed. Mall for vacation last year!!!!~ me and my sisters and brother, went to that slide soo many times!!!!!!!!!!!...it was awesome!

  • This slide and the Sky Screamer are the only ones I am scared to go on. Is the Thunderbolt scary when you go down, cause all my friends and brothers who have gone on everything say it has a different feeling than the other slides which makes the most scary.... I really wanna go on this but I am too scared!

  • @FrutopianBoy

The Thunderbolt is a lot of fun. I have never considered it scary, even the first time I was on it, 23 years ago. - LOL. Everyone from age 5 to 75 has fun on this, give it a try! The Sky Screamer is steep at the beginning, but I've only seen a few people walk up all the stairs to the top of the slide, look down the slide, and then walk all the way back down the stairs. Again, try it. If you don't like it, then you know.

  • Thanks for the advice.. I will be sure to keep that in mind!

  • looks well shallow when you come off that ride, usually they are deep.

  • I LOVE THIS SLIDE but unfortunatly the most recent time i went their it was closed.

  • Usually opens after 17:00 on weekdays, for the last few hours the waterpark is open, and also open on weekends.

  • dude i love that slide so much its so fucn to go on that mostly like one of the few slides i like there

  • When the splashdown pool was drained out (0:10 - 0:40), there was talk that the Thunderbolt was history, the conveyor was beyond repair etc. Many folks were saddened by this news. And then, surprise, a few weeks later it was restored to new condition, the conveyor was fixed, and the Thunderbolt was open again. Although this slide isn't high like the Sky Screamer, I like it the best. It's fun, and different than all the rest.

It is great to see so many comments from others who like this slide!

  • lol thats cool, that sucks if u tip over on the water going full speed.

  • For the sled ride I went on, you couldn't even make it halfway through the pool! I want to go to Edmonton Mall!

Read through the comments, wow there were soooo much hatred and burning!

  • It's pretty common for most riders to reach the end of the water and skid along the tiled floor a short distance before stopping. Little kids under 60 pounds seem to have no trouble reaching the tiles, if they don't flip over. It's harder for 200-pounders like me, cause we make the sled drag deeper, instead of skipping the surface of the water.

  • that is like my fave slide at the water park it's awesome great vid

  • wow, are you guys 10 year olds?

I'm canadian and as much as I don't appreciate people calling Canada shit, especially when they probably have not stepped a foot in Canada, it's not worth fighting via comments on a youtube slide video. grow up.

Oh, one more thing, to the guys or girls who "hate" Canadians, you more than likely have not met EVERY single canadian, so if I were you i'd shut your mouth

  • I find it funny that "angryebell4" is bashing on Canadians, yet he uses a song by Three Days Grace (which is a Canadian band) in one of his videos. Lol what a fucking noob.

On topic, the slide in the video kicks is pretty wicked sick if you ask me!

  • What I find amusing is it all started with angrybelle4 asking where the waterpark is. OK, it is in the description, or a person could search using Google, but I don't know why it was worth so much hostility!!

  • And yet half the world hates america your a dick face

  • i agree with you and i'am canadian so that just offends me big time i live in the same province as edmonton i live in calgary and for anyone bad mothing canada it may seem like a bad place to some of you but canada rocks ok

  • the only input you get is your dads input of his dick in your ass

  • real canadians like me use a deadly arsenal of asshat, fucktard, and dipshit

  • i biffed it everytime i went on this

  • is this in america or england?

  • West Edmonton Mall is in Alberta, Canada.

  • you homo its in Canada god

  • how am i a homo for asking a question u stupid fucking twat, get a life i live in britain so i wouldnt know so go fuck yourself u canadian prick

  • its in canada, retard

  • how about u go fuck ureself u fat cunt

  • typical brit...all you use is cunt and retard...

  • typical american...all you can use is homo and gay

    yeah...

  • and im a canadian, i use fucker and redneck

  • when then fuck u rednecked canadian

you where mosproberly born in the back of your trailer so go fuck yourself

  • if i was a redneck, i wouldnt have this computer to insult you and your tea-sipping, buck-toothed country

  • ok...number 1..im not buck toother...number2. i hate tea.number 3

noone your shitty comebacks you most proberly get your combeacks from a television show like family guy...and everyone knows i would rather be british than canadian or american..america is the most overweight contoury in the world

and all you mother fucking canadians care about is hockey

  • first, i hate family guy so much that i want to kill seth macfarlane, and i hate hockey. and while your in england or great britain or whatever its called, tell jagex they fucked up runescape

  • go to hell, nobody likes u

  • go fuck yourself bitch

  • ooooh wow your probably taking those burns from your real shit life

  • after you , yah big fairy

  • ROFL the end... :) i love west edmonton mall

  • hahahahaha

  • jaja

  • i crashed on that once and it hurt :P

  • omgomgomg i love westedmonton mall im going there in aguest WOOT i live in edmonton soooo

  • I am surpirsed the life gaurd did not take the camera away or deny you on the ride.

  • I've been kicked out of the waterpark a few times before, including from the Thunderbolt, but they don't seem to mind if cameras are taken on the slides.

  • Well that particuler slide I would be worried about bringing a camera since you got hold on with both hand s for complete control and could have got severly injured or killed if you fell of the sled on the steep part becuase of one hand control. You were lucky.

  • why have you been kicked of the waterpark for.

  • If you check my older comment (about one month before), this describes in detail why I got kicked out for trying to 'surf' on one of the Thunderbolt sleds. The other time we were kicked from the waterpark was for swimming to the net behind the waterfall at the deep end of the wave pool. The lifeguard was furious we would swim so close to the wave machines! We thought it was funny, she didn't and we were escorted out..

  • it doesn't look as steep on camera

  • lol at the end.

  • I don't know where you got the guts to go down one handed!

  • lol i luv that slide its my favorite!!!i went on it 10billion times 2day!!!!

and how did u film that???with ur hands???or wat??? wen i took 1 hand of i wiped out!!! lol but i still LOVE it!!!! so fun!!!

  • One hand on the sled and one for the camera, worked well the first three times!! (20+ years experience riding Thunderbolt sleds, ha ha).

About 8 years ago, I got kicked out of the waterpark for standing on one of the sleds to try 'surfing'. Major failure!! Huge wipeout! The sled went cartwheeling through the garden along the wall under the sled conveyor (seen at 0:28), mud went flying everywhere!!! Slide attendant told me I was done for the day, and I was escorted out. by a WWP staff member.

  • When I returned to the waterpark the next day, there was a sled at the end of the conveyor on the platform behind several that were stacked neatly (like at 0:58) which was all covered with mud. I picked it up to ride down the slide and asked the slide attendant (different than the day before) why the sled is so dirty. The answer: 'Some maniac went flying through the plants with it yesterday!'

My comment: 'It was me!!' LOL LOL

  • haha thats so funny lol what he say after that LMFAO

  • fuck you

  • The very end is the BEST!

  • Although wipe-outs are pretty common, I was trying to avoid it while holding the camera. The sled went flying, but I held onto the camera!

  • hey you should make a video going down sun runner the new blue bullet and raging rapids

  • that one was my fav when i went there

  • The place looks really empty for something so fun!!!Why is that?

  • I filmed this when the Thunderbolt first opened on a Sunday morning!

Standing in line on the stairs for ten minutes or even longer on a Saturday afternoon is fairly routine.

Even though Thunderbolt is one of the original attractions, it remains very popular since it is one of a kind in the waterpark.

  • damn that looks like it would be fun!

  • eeee it was ok

  • There didn't seem to be any other videos on YouTube with a camera going down the Thunderbolt sled slide, so I had to give it a try!

Lost the sled, but held onto the camera @ 1:46... multiple roll wipeout!!

This would be my favorite slide at the World Waterpark!

Just re-opened after resurfacing the splashdown pool and improvements to the sled conveyor.
