Excellent again, Chris. But isn't it funny/peculiar? I had windy conditions and a helo at Shap (though it didn't interfere too much), and rainy conditions at Garsdale too. (I nearly filmed from that spot, looking at the viaduct, as well)! Then I had rain for the Scarborough Flyer a few days later, which ruined the shot that I was after.
@LMSStanier Thanks David. What a small world - if you ever see a really fat bloke behind a tripod it could be me. I'm afraid I'm very behind with watching other peoples videos but I wil ge round to them. With this weather I can hardly wait till winter. Chris
@khankadet Sorry Chris, but I mis-implied that I was filming this special at the same locations as you on the day but I had come off nights so was asleep for most of the day. I did manage to get to Liverpool Lime Street later on, to film 6201 on her return there on the day.
Well Chris, you and I had quite a similar day. I was on the other side of the line at Scout Green and a little further south at Langwathby. Its very hard to hold a brolly and pan at the same time isnt it. Anyway, great vid. Mike
@rab4472 Thanks Mike - I haven't looked at your video yet (very behind) but will be interested to compare conditions. I'm not good at panning at the best of times but with the squally winds we always get with the rain up here I find it impossible. Chris
great vid, scout green looks brilliant. thanks for bravin the rain could be me in a weeks time chasin the black 5 this year on the cambrian. well done
@puffernutterlou Thanks Lou. Scout Green was comparatively quiet. I guess the forecast and the fact that these trips are being repeated all summer had some influence. I was hoping for another trip on the Cambrian this year but it's looking unlikely at the moment. Hope you get some good shots - I'll look out for them. Chris
Excellent video, some great shots under extremely difficult circumstances.I know about helicopters as I sometimes get them as unwelcome guests. The weather was not the best .Thanks for posting
@EMuksteam Thanks Emlyn. Typical summer weather ;o) Nothing you can do about helicopters it just happens. I'd get fed up if it happened every time though. Chris
@stephengthompson Thanks Steve. The squall just suddenly came up while I waited at Langwathby and followed me through Appleby, Birkett Common and Ais Gill till I could go no further so I stopped at Garsdale. Seems like I should have stopped earlier as it apparently died out at Birkett as Lizzie was on her way. Chris
@steamatspeed Thanks - it certainly added something! I'm always surprised by the viciousness of th ewind and rain on the S&C though I should be used to it by now. Chris
Well you certainly had a few trials and tribulations Chris but survived to tell the tale. Nice shot at Scout Green, she was flying so well. Langwathby shows how the cameraman suffers for his art!
You are a hardy soul Chris, out in all weathers! Great vid - 5 stars!!
