Can I ask, because I've never touched Empire or Napoleon Total War, why is Constantinople/Istanbul so small... at least compared to what it was in reality and in the Medieval II game... It looks like a fort...
simply put sieges in ETW and NTW are crap, they all have generic forts so no matter the city etc / how large it is on the campaign map / no matter what upgrades etc ie: bigger walls or whatever it'll always look the same crappy fort or a star fort both a pretty crap tho.
@MrSpqr84 im at uni mate, I explained it in my vlog, I was able to come home for the weekend, but wont be able to resume proper scheduled videos every day till I'm back for christmas !!
Hey there firstly the name of the city was, is and will forever be Constantinople in honor of its founder and secondly what's the name of that mod? ;)
@darthkarr Samething with British actors playing Romans its to get the Superior cunning and evil that comes with a British accent. there is a youtube series of Napoleon that you can watch its very very well done.
yeh peace with Georgia btw they are effin tough to beat and keep down, if you do conqour them your looking at having to keep a decent sized army there to keep peace and put down revolts.
It's been called Istanbul since 1453, it's called Istanbul in the game and Istanbul in real life
could you greeks and turks please switch of your proposterous exagerated nationalism button and enjoy the bleedin' vid before it drowns in a sea of 12-year old dribble.
@xTheGerbilx u still dont understand what i am trying to say :\\\\ i am not trying to say that greeks are beter than turks ;) or vise versa, but u could understand what i am trying to say if you knew how and why constantinople was named after to istanbul(very sad story).so please stop calling me a "nazi" without having the knowledge of what it means(thats very sad story too :{ )
and the only reason why you would call it istanbul is because it was commonly done so by western countries until 1900, that's not worth it to spark a fight
@xTheGerbilx hey listen we never attacked turkey she was always attacking and also what about Cyprus we are not racists we just want to have the land we really own
don't act all victimised, you lot are not one fuck better than the turks. You both were part of diffrent countries/unions etc. that has been beating the shit out of eachother for the past 2000 years and because of that you are now among the lower ranks of Europe. and the only way you deal with it is to blame it on eachother
@xTheGerbilx hey listen you know we are better you really do i mean democracy science G.Alexander turkey hasn't done something at least close to this things but i dont want to speak about who is better everyone who knows history easily can tell you who is better iam just saying WE NEVER ATTACKED them look throughout the whole history in balkans we never started a war against em thet always did and we just want the lands we really own back like Cyprus
You actually did attack them in the 1920's which led to the separation of the Ottoman empire after which the new state of Turkey kicked you back over the Hellespont, you couldn't attack them before that because you were part of the ottoman empire for more than 500 years (riots and failed revolutions excluded), after another 500 years of ongoing war with the Seldzjuk. And what you (or rather: 'the Cypriots') and the Turks are doing on Cyprus is unworthy for any member of the EU
@xTheGerbilx first of all they are not Cypriots they are greeks go and ask em if you want they will agree now in 1910's (you propably mean the first balkan war) greece didn't started the war she joined after the begining and also we didn't slaughter them like they did in Smyrna also we are not doing anything to them (cypriots) absolutely nothing and if you dont believe me just go and ask one guy from Cyprus
a cypriot? you means those dicks that refused the Annan treaties, approved by the UN? If they are Greeks it's a colonial matter and you have no more right to claim the island than the Turks... or even the British. Perhaps my geography is off, but isn't Smyrna IN turkey? so 20,000 greeks just happend to be in Smyrna as the fight for independance began? Anyways, I've had enough of this bickering of the minor's of europe, stop talking and murder eachother out for the good of all.
incorrect I'm afraid its been called Istanbul as early as the 10th Century in Arabic texts. Its been more commonly known across the world as Istanbul since the Ottoman capture of the city in 1453. The date 1914 that your referring to is when the entire world finally abandoned older names for the city, namely for the postal system and address when all became - Istanbul rather than say Constantinople. But it has been called Istanbul by much of the western world since 1453!
@lionheartx10 In spoken language, yes. Even the Greeks called it Istanbul, it's short for "the city" or some crap like that in Greek. Ottoman sources used a Konstant....something for centuries.
@johndi16 istanbul is the name that the turks gave to the city when they took it from us in 1453,the real name is constantinopolis from 330 AD till today :)
Would you be so kind fine sire to tell me from which Napoleonic movie you took that excerpt? Why, I must say, it does not ring, the well known, bell. (I feel like speaking the old ways after that, keep them coming, great job)
Dont march through the deserts to take egypt, palestine, and syria. it would be way more effective to land on there ports, and drop the troops off, plus that woul save time and destroy there income because trade is the ottomans back bone.
and to call better the taktikos stratos think of tactical tactikos stratos keep up the good work
