There are so many comments/views for Jagged Little Pill and hardly any for Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. Come on people. It's an amazing album. Very different from JLP, but in a great way!
This album is pure nineties and inspiration. On the cover she has makeup in the foreground and she's without it in the background. Perhaps the two sides of a woman, how she has to appear to be considered pretty and how she really is. Who knows? I love this song, the way she sings towards the end, she's like crying. I love this song.
ive watched alot of videos..well listend to alot of cd vovers (like this one) and there are so many POSITIVE comments on all these videos(mind the few idiots who make fun of her pffffft)...its awesome to see so much love for someone thats all..i guess its cuse we're all CANADIAN EH? LOL...song rocks "howwwwwwwwwwwww inAPPROpriate"
This album was so ahead of its time. Morissette is a poetic genius. And no, it's not anti-male in my opinion. ALL I REALLY WANT to say is I'm a male and this is one of my favorite albums. It's not IRONIC or anything, and if you think it's anti-male, how about YOU LEARN because YOU OUGHTA KNOW this: you can't see RIGHT THROUGH anybody.
@kitttykat248 i have to agree... she writes/ sings about the angst and anxiety of relationships and the hurts that come with it... i never saw it as anti male
I remember seeing on MTV (back in the days when they showed rock videos) that some considered Jagged Little Pill to be anti-male.
Well, I'm a male who is not known for being a raving feminist. And never considered this album to be anti-male.
Better still, I thought this album to be more straight forward and candid than any piece of art in a decade. That so many women I know identified with these lyrics actually prompted me to be nicer and more gentle. Message taken.
@imlikenit Men relate to a hell of a lot more of this woman's music than you might think, my friend. And to think otherwise would be qutie presumptuous.
Alanis's lyrics and stories might be from a woman's perspective, but anyone who had ever had an uncertain moment - especially in matters of the heart - would find a lot of truth in her words. She is great musician and Jagged Little Pill is easily one of the most important albums of the '90s...and maybe beyond.
"a soul to dig the hole much deeper"
