  • frOOOOOOvous

  • LOL...Moxy Frihvus. Nice performance fellahs.

  • Oh my god that conductor has got to chill out... This isn't karate... Nice voices, very nice blend, but I feel that the song itself is lost to the singers and the image they wish to portray, this would have sounded better around the kitchen table.

  • PLAY HOCKEY - if you're gonna sing it and say it's Canadian, then don't change the lyrics.

  • fucking frat house pussies..

  • He pronounced the umlaut! LOL

  • Love this song, and this is definitely the best version I've found on youtube.

  • The lyrics are play hockey, not play Frisbie! Is this the American rendition or something ;)

  • You gentlemen have such a rich, gorgeous blend! And being a Canadian (and raised on Moxy Fruvous haha!), I'm really impressed at the job you guys did, and it's nice to have more Canadian music getting out there. And damn those tenors have some serious balls :)

  • Beautiful.

  • moxy fruvous = moxy fr"oo"vous

  • long live the fru... mixed feelings about this group's performance, but at least college a cappella can help to keep their work alive for a few more years. great band.

  • Beautiful sound gentlemen! The blend is phenomenal and the articulation is superb! I have been wanting to perform this song with a group I'm assembling for a chamber choir at my university and I was wondering if you might know where I could find the sheet music for this as I don't have enough time on my hands right now to transcribe it. ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • gooooooooood this version is BORING. Good tuning guys but seriously you sound like you were singing at gunpoint about to pee your pants.

  • @StewNWT Thanks for the insight, Professor Birdshit!

  • @Youngapostle007 lol so maybe I went a little far but it really needs more emotion

  • lol 21 years old! very nice. amazing song.

  • Your rendition is a slap in the face of a band whose name you can't even pronounce correctly. DIAGF all of you.

  • God bless you!

  • best version ive ever seen, it gave me chills the voices blend soo well together..amazing job!!!

  • Cornell also did a cover of this song

  • i liked cornell's -hangovers a capella song- a bunch better... these guys are good but they speed up to emphasize the funny parts and thats really unnecessary

  • wow! good tenor falsetto

  • this is so legit. i love this song. i love this group.

  • Being a canadian...and a big Moxy fan...great job!!!!!

  • @MyDateWithHugh SAME! =D

  • nicee (=

  • yeah, I was looking for sheet music as well. anyone know where to find it?

  • i've been looking for sheet music for this song. where can I find? did you do your own arrangement?

    excellent job! :)

  • What's with rushing at the end of every phrase and chopping off the end of the last notes? Hold them ouuuuuttttt....it will sound way better.

  • Actually, this is a very accurate cover of the original song.

The majority of Moxy Fruvous' music was written so that it could be sung a-capella.

The last time I saw them live, they sang a 90% a-capella set since they were so impressed by the acoustics of the auditorium.

  • the original song is acapella so that doesn't bother me, but I agree they're cutting off the ends of the lines. It doesn't sound right.

  • sucked. didn't bring me to the verge of tears.

  • Wow, excellent job :) and a very sad song...

  • They are great singers with excellent harmony--very hard to catch an outlier, which is impressive considering their numbers. Still, this rendition lacks some of the intimacy of the original four-part recording, and is a little too fast at some points. Amusing--"what could we say, we're only TWENTY-ONE years old. We'd like to play FRISBEE..." A-.

  • oh, and the guy at 1:37 reminds me of Mr. Bean.

  • loses alot of the warmth of the song when there's 6x the people... Keep it to four.

Americans ruin alot of stuff ;) J/k

    and it's Fruvous, not frivis.

    -Scotty :)

  • Well, if we're getting bitchy over spelling/prununciation, it's Moxy Früvous.

  • Right....I've been a fan for over a decade, since I saw them at the Winnipeg Folk Festival...spoken with them, own their CD's....And it's definitely NOT Frivis, nor Frisbee. Other than that, not a bad performance.

  • Oops...forgot to say that the singing is AWESOME!

  • What are Jabberwocks?

  • Re: What are Jabberwocks?

A: Jabberwocky, a fun poem by Lewis Carroll. The poem is worth reading as "a few words that Carroll invented in this poem namely "chortled", "galumphing", "frabjous", and "vorpal") have entered the English language. The word jabberwocky itself is sometimes used to refer to nonsense language..."

  • um... i am from canoodia, and it is deffinitly "frivis"

  • Actually, the umlaut in their name, which, when placed over a u (a vowel I have never known to make an "i" sound), makes the extended "oo" sound. Thusly, it is spelled Moxy Früvous, and pronounced "mock-see froovis".Additionally, I don't see how your nationality changes rules of the English language.

  • Oh, they do songs with instruments and rock songs, too. Plus, we play hockey, not frisbee, you preppy hosers!

  • Its Moxy Fruvous, not Frivis
