The ending of this game is quite a both interesting and pleasant sight. Maybe it's not much but the fact that I read translations of the original DDS novels somehow makes this ending all the more refreshing for me.
Considering when this game was made even if it might not be much what is being said in the background with Izanagi and Izanami? (If I'm not mistaken who the couple are in the background...)
If you look for Aeon Genesis, you can find a translation patch in progress on their website. They list about 85% completion, so it should be out soon.

Does this game have multiple endings? I heard that if you leave the game still for 5 minutes after the END screen, you get something else?

Yes.
5 minutes later, the title screen appears.
If you choose 'NEW GAME', hard mode will start.
In hard mode, the followings are difference.
Event characters, shops and treasure chests move to other rooms or floors.
All devils increase their HP x2.
But the ending is the same as in normal mode.
But the ending is same as 1st lap.

That's Megami Tensei, and you're fighting Loki correct?

Yes, this game is Megami Tensei, but the final boss is Lucifer.
Loki appears as boss in Valhalla area, but I did not have to fight with him.
