  • I also think you meant to use graphite from a pencil to lube the nut. i dont think you can get lead.

  • at 1:39 you shouldn't tighten the screws on the back of the head stock becuz you can damage the threads of the wood in the screw hole and then the screws will just spin. plus thows screws "don't" come loose over time so there's no need to tighten them. just tighten the nut's on top of the head stock.

  • @777MMT At the time those screws actually were loose, so either someone was messing with my guitar or they do get loose over time. And I hardly ever let anyone touch my guitar.

  • @MajesticJesusPirate hmmmmm thats weird thats nerver happened to me. my guess is your guitar has a different type of wood then mine or the factory that made your guitar didnt tighten them good wich happens allot now'a days. my guitar is an esp ltd and its doesn't have that problem and its only $250 XD it doe's have other prob's so me and my friend ho happen's to be a guitar builder are gonna get to gather and build a new one thats gonna be much better.

  • Also the adhesive from the pick holder wrecks the finish in that area, it eats away at the finish, similarly to the effect rubber guitar stands have on Gibsons nitro.

  • Setting up usually refers to fret levelling if it needs, not slotting, intonation and truss rod adjustment. Not just changing strings and polishing.

Some people don't like to fiddle with the Truss rod or to do the nut filing because if you don't do it correctly you may need to change the nut. Fret levelling requires straight edges to check the height and files to fix them if necessary.

Some shops have a plek machine which does this with a lot more accuracy.

  • A. You may want a string winder. :P B. Fast fret is string cleaner, to fret board conditioner, I recommend getting fret board conditioner for cleaning frets and making your neck last longer. The back of the neck, I agree with, I do it on my acoustic 'cause it has a glossy back and it takes oil off. C. Bill Bakers method of restringing is better, check his out!

  • @Songwriter4God haha Yeah I do need a string winder, but I normally have plenty of time to restring. I know Fast Fret isn't meant for cleaning frets, but it's worked so far, especially on my maple neck guitar. Hopefully I won't have to do the back of the neck thing anymore since I'll be sanding my Gibson soon. I will look into something better for my frets soon and Bill Baker's restringing method

    Thanks for the tips :D

Sorry to advertise, but if you could check out my band in the under bar ;)
