i am a bigger tool fan than chevelle fan, but lets not get it wrong i fuckin love chevelle. and i dont get the comparisons. yes, both are on some level progressive, and on some level a little dark. pete and maynard are some of the best rock singers out there even though maynards getting a little older now. but the song structures are nothing alike. the bass styles are totally different and pete is a tight riff guy and adam jones is a organic free flow guy i could go on, the comparison isnt there

Who cares, Maynard is a lyrical and musical genious, easily comparable to Paul Mcartney, led zep, young, etc, so if this guy sounds like him and is commented so, its really a compliment AND puts forth the question why chevelle is so underrated?

I can hear similarities definitely, but compare tool or apc to chevelle doesn't seem very accurate to me. Chevelle follows the "rules" of music a little too closely to be compared to tool. I am a huge fan of both as well, so don't you all go saying Im a hater. Maynard rocks ass, and chevelle is just plain killer. Chevelle should be compared more to like Breaking Benjamin or something similar.
