I'm surprised this is on You Tube. All the other versions--stock market crash, real estate crash, wanting a Toyota, were removed because they were insensitive? This one is especially offensive because the best kits are the Stukas and the DO-X.. Forget the Spitfires !
i would not say the mustang is not a good fighter, but i am sure you where only joking, as that is a common stereotype for some people who like spitfires.
This was hilarious. Either CurtisWildebeest is a scale modeler or has the research skills of one to make this work so well.
The way "Der Fuhrer" was ranting, you would think that someone told him he could have one only if he finished it in aftermarket Israeli decals . . . .
@modelermark172 Well, I am a scale modeller.. and I had intended to post it on my modelling channel, but the fear of the copyright trolls made me post it here instead.. :)

np well to me it seemed very good and well i never knew hitler has such power over ppl with the one pulling on his collor like i could imagen if hed had wanted a submarine for his birthday and he got a tank insted i think that would make a great new one from me personaly
@Grendelrex : Yes, and not just planes either. Better throw in at least one '66 VW Beetle before he builds the diorama of the Wolfsburg factory around the Revell '68 bug!
Fame at last... :) But yes, that effect is lingering a bit.. still, it's hopefully good for Airfix, and that should hopefully be good for the rest of us in the long run! I just wish I had posted this on my dedicated modelling channel now instead.. but I had copyright concerns and didn't want to get into trouble in case YouTube protested.. .. :)
Yes it does have that sense of authenticity being German. Some facts were changed, Hitlers secretary did not escape Berlin in real life but was captured and mistreated by Russian soldiers. Still a fascinating film though.
Try to get the version which has the 'making of' this film, and watch the part about the actor who plays Hitler.
If you do find the film I warn you it is very heavy viewing, and amazing insight into a piece of history which has been drawn up very carefully via this film.
Ha ha ha ha.. well, at the end he decided to sell his airbrush there.. :) I have started on ebay, but it's frustrating because all the kits I want have already passed thgeir last bid date.. :P I found a nice Gladiator the other day, and bought it succesfully.. only to find out that it will be re-issued in the summer anyway.. no doubt for half the price to what I paid.. :) Never mind.. :)
Yes, FINALLY!!! Trouble is, I don't really need any more kits now.. But perhaps I will not build my Matchbox original after all, just buy a couple of the Revell kits and be happy.. eh?? :)
Nice, I wonder what decals it comes with? I get the feeling I won't be going back to to plastic anytime soon so no more kits either, the depron is just too addictive ;)
A nice Maltese Gladiator would be most welcome, as I do want to build a RAF Glad too.. but otherwise I do want to build another standard Swedish plane, a Norwegian version and most of all a Swedish volunteer flying for the Finns.. :0)
I'm sure you could find a scheme for Swedish volunteers online, and perhaps paint and mask the symbols? If you do maltese make sure you get it right, you wouldn/t want the Maltese cross would you? ;) If I do a foamie glad it will be James Pattle's plane :)
I have at least 2 lots of decals for the Swedish volunteers.. one set comes with the Heller kit, and I also got another (better) set with the resin skis et.c that I bought so I'm ok for decals.. no need to mask anything!! As for the Maltese Gladiator, you get all the decals you need with the Airfix kit.. ordinary RAF roundels! I want to make the later mark, with the 3-bladed prop.. just to make it different from the others.. :) None of them will be exactly the same.. :)
Yes they are excellent and simple, as long as there are fuselage or engine pods long enough to fit plenty rubber inside. I.e. A Lancaster or DC3 would not accomodate much length between the prop and rear rubber hook :(
Well if you ever get that urge, Guillows do a nice, widely available kit in balsa (only need PVA and Klear to dope the tissue). I could even send you high quality rubber strip if needed ;)
It wouldn't be a problem as long as they kept the dogs on leads.. I think the area where I could possibly fly is a 'leads on' zone anyway, but that doesn't mean a thing.. :)
I recommend you rent 'the downfall', it is a good film in its own right besides the parodies. Before Hitler tops himself he gives his dog Blondi a pill, and you hear it 'plonk' onto the floor :) I thought it was pretty funny at the time.
I did indeed.. but I didn't risk popsting it on Basic.. even if admittedly it would be more suited there.. and nobody has, to the best of my knowledge, covered Hitlers secret hobby yet.. until now.. :) Glad you liked it.. :)
That was the whole point... that he liked to build Spitfires!! And the fact that they did sell out for a while, after the TV-programme.. :) It stopped me from getting one.. :)

This is a excellent film, Downfall. it took me many days to watch it as there is so much going on in it, really amazing film done on a tiny budget.
Some scenes in this film stick in your mid forever, it was made by German producers. Must have really been important for them to do.
The best German WW2 film by far, thank god hollywood had no part to play in it.
leokimvideo 2 years ago
Yes it does have that sense of authenticity being German. Some facts were changed, Hitlers secretary did not escape Berlin in real life but was captured and mistreated by Russian soldiers. Still a fascinating film though.

GerbilEssences 2 years ago
I have at least 2 lots of decals for the Swedish volunteers.. one set comes with the Heller kit, and I also got another (better) set with the resin skis et.c that I bought so I'm ok for decals.. no need to mask anything!! As for the Maltese Gladiator, you get all the decals you need with the Airfix kit.. ordinary RAF roundels!
