Dump the gasifier and use fermented whiskey mash heated to 160 degrees "vapor" to run your engines/generators. There are plenty of vapor carb videos, but none using whiskey mash, which is "unique".
These drums were given to me by someone who wanted to cleanout there hanger...I assume they held some sort of airplane fluids. The big drum has aircraft motor oil but the little yellow one had 20 Kg of something else.
I am sure these things can be found other places...I would start by using Google to search for different drums...I found lots of plastic ones doing that.
I will do some research myself and post the results...
i used to work for a company (skolnik) that made those type of small yellow barrels and drums(salvage barrel/drum).
Mainly they are used to contain toxic waste materials at all types of factories.
I also worked at a small oil change shop where we received them containing our chassis grease and differential fluid shipments. We'd usually just threw them away unless someone asked for them.
If you are looking to get them free, just go to a oil change shop and ask for them. hope this helps.
Awesome I want to do the same as you. I have found them commercially on Ebay for like $2000.00
The big thing to watch out for is the tar that comes out some people use a bubbler to get rid of that. Also explosions in the big tank, and don't do this inside. As you warned CO2 gas will kill.
The tar issue seems to be minimal with the downdraft gasifier. I have seen a video here on YouTube by Victory Gasworks that explains those tars and how to avoid them.
I am still playing with filter options at this point because I want to mount this baby on my RV and beat my 10 mpg (downhill).
Also, the RV has an Onan generator that will not start or run for long on gasoline...the carb may be glazed over, but I can remove said carb and run straight wood gas...I think it can happen soon!
