well that's my point. I do not see the same quality when other characters are used, even from the same students. So my guess is that everything is already setup for that character regardless of the tuition. No offense it is my conclusion. You are good.
If you gave Ben a different character to animate the same scene I am sure you would see the same quality of animation. Sure the Bishop rig (AM character) is a top notch rig with alot of controls, but the importance of animation isnt the rig, but the principles of animation you apply to that rig. And all that you learn at Animationmentor.
very nice animation. Love the fire. The acting as well. I always see the same characters all the time, I wonder if you are given a different model with different controls...would you be able to reproduce such smoothness like that?
Thanks for the comment on my shot. The smoothness comes from tracking your arcs, and checking your easing in/out in relation to the character's weight. It has nothing to do with the rig itself.
The reason you see a lot of smooth animations using the same character is because of the quality tuition you receive from the Animation Mentor course. (And after paying ALL THAT MONEY, you'd expect it to be quality too!)
btw, did u get into AM with any previous experience with animation\Maya?
lol..after all that money [17,000$ not including the jumpboard course,i guess? :] its not only this, but you gotta invest lots & lotsa frikkin' Time into this! u cant even work in a day-job while doing AM, i guess! lol :]
Hey. I had a tiny bit of Maya experience, but more importantly, I had quite a bit of Flash 2D animation experience.
AM is a lot of money, and A LOT of time. But I did continue with my full time job while doing the course. It was hard, and my social life disapeared, but it is doable.
If you want to get into animation, it's a great course. Compare $17K to the cost of Cal Arts! It ain't that expensive either.
hehe..it defers on the person, if to call it expensive or not :] but at least in normal schools u got scholarships and all..not in AM :\
Anyways, its kinda scary to get into the whole process without alot of knowledge, because despite the Amazing work of students that we see- i bet its only the guys who had previous knowledge\arts degree beforehand. and that there are lotsa ppl that dont come "ready" enough-so they stay mediocre. the Worst-for me-is to finish AM and keep animation as a Hobby
I was the 1000th view :)

love the kung fu masters arcs when he says FEEEEEL..u captured it perfectly.
Would have been nice to see a bit of cartoonish, exaggerated reaction on the other character whenever he gets whacked.
Top notch stuff!
Its not the rig, its the animator....
