What terrible story! Fortunately, there is the Internet, such information will remain online forever. I can imagine that it is terrible, the feeling you have when you think you've done everything possible but don't move forward. But as long as this video and the website is online, there is a chance that Ani is found.

What I'm thinking is that she may have went hiking in a remote area of the countryside, and had a terrible accident or something. I'm just not feeling she was a victim of a crime. She was an experienced traveler, and Hong Kong is really safe. I'm a woman who has traveled alone, quite extensively. Foreign men will try and hit on you. You make small talk with them...or anyone else, and you move on. She was too smart to meet a stranger and go off with them...but you just never know

This was a captivating story. I'm in the middle of mid terms and just spent half an hour watchig all the videos and links. She seems like a beautiful individual and I hope she is found eventually.

Well i think i can give a tip, in this type of case you can't be carless. I say check if she met anyone in the airport in Hong Kong or on the streets or like in the ikea. they were probably acting extreamly nice with her and once she trusted them enough to like have a nice walk and talk they pulled her in a van and forced her into human trafficking. Check if she talked with anyone attendted anything like a party or something. ..... check if she had any contact and i mean any! with other people

i bet it IS human traffickers. hong kong being an international city yields a huge number of foreigners. Perhaps she got suckered in by some kidnappers from the local mafia and forced her into a prostitution ring.

Despite how safe Hong Kong is, the Chinese mafia still runs illegal businesses all around the city. They even go as far as kidnapping chinese citizens and crippling them so they can send them to Hong Kong and pose as the homeless to earn money begging.

Did anyone think to check the passenger list on the flight from Xian to HK? If she had met someone in China they probably would've sat together if they flew in together.

I live in Hong Kong. I have taken some photos off your youtube video of Ani with my mobile phone. I will definately keep a watch out to see if I spot Ani around HK. Miracles do happen!

I live in Hong Kong thoughout my whole life and had studyed in a local school in Causewy Bay for years. The only thing I know is that ChungHing is a place where I still don't have the courage to have a peek(don't even mention going in that building!) . I know that Causeway Bay has lots of hostals near IKEA and surely $2,800 could only be enough for 2 weeks, maybe? I really hope that she is fine! Maybe there's some reason that she decides to stay away from home. May God bless her!

if some evidence suggests that ani had met someone while she was still in China, then she probably could have been traveling with the person to xian and perhaps to hong kong. Have they ooked through the passengers that were on the same flight as her to hong kong, and their whereabouts in hong kong?
