  • Actually the Corvette's LS1 is documented to have more horsepower than the Camaro, Trans am's, and GTO. Then they ditched the Camaro and Trans am along with the LS1 and got the LS2 to put in the GTO. The Corvettes had defiantly made more power than the others with the LS1

  • just to clarify the LS2's made 435hp to the crank and 370RWHP give or take every engine is different by a few hp the LS1's make 410hp to the crank and 350RWHP but trans ams also weigh less and the ws.6's have ram air which increases hp the faster u go so there almost dead even bone stock look up what im telling you and you will se im right. 01 corvette made 350RWHP same engine same performance

  • aluminum does disperse heat faster but when u start running certain pounds of boost on a aluminum engine u need to sleeve it with iron or steel sleeves to make it a whole lot stronger as far as the internals

  • 12.90@111.9, it was from a stop and yes I have long tubes. my car dynoed 360rwhp and 382rwtq and as I said exhaust tune and well I do have a bigger air lid for the ram air but that only helps very little at high speeds haha. I figured it would beat me. must have been some driver error lol

  • You imbicil. The cobalt runs forced induction, and this one is stage 2. Engine displacements have very little to do with power output anymore because everyone uses direct injection. List price on a new Cobalt SS, 25000, don't know what a stage two is. 2005 pontiac GTO in great condition: 20000. Theres you answer.

  • What? Are you serious? What does forced induction have to do with CID? CID is the BASELINE of the engine. Boost is the pressure inside the combustion chamber. So, how do those two relate when it comes to power in the battle of a Naturally aspirated engine vs a boost powered engine? Cubics inches (more) provide more rotational force on the crank shaft, which *as long as RPM requirements are made* provide more horsepower at higher RPMS.

  • Are you fucking serious? the GTO's look plain as hell on the outside, but the interiors make up for it. Colored leather, gauges, etc. The interior is way better then any other GM car. I have a 2004 GTO so i know what im talking about. It's purple with purple leather interior.

  • @006 cobalt SS Supercharged with stage 2 kit which includes pulleys and injectors, CAI, and exhaust would push around 255. The 2008 cobalt SS Turbocharged are pushing about 260 stock so with some minor up grades it would be pushing over 300. To get to were the GTO is dynoing would take a bigger turbo.

  • my buddy has an 07 SS/SC and his old set up had a 2.6" pulley, 60lb/hr injectors, full exhaust (no cat), injen cai and was runnin meth with a good tune and we had 4 people in the car as well as 200lb P3 subs in the trunk and we held dead even with a 6.0L GTO....its really not that difficult to do; its power to weight ratio...but just the stage 2 wont outrun a GTO

The cobalt in this video has a header, full exhaust, and others that aren't listed. my cousin's cobalt has a stage 2 kit with an cold air intake and a megan exhaust tip on stock exhaust and he has about 250 to 255. Because there is no way in hell that any cobalt that has just a stage 2 kit is pushing 305.

  • Sorry. The LS1 can't hold a candle to the LS2. All other things equal (as in if both where running the same amount of boost, equal tunes, drivers, etc.) the goat will beat the WS6. It will be close, but the goat will pull and walk.
