This observation.....young singers..you may have noticed that Jack (one of the very best) moves the mic close and then away from his mouth as his vocal volume changes. This was called mic technique by singers of the time. This was done so you could whisper a line then scream the next without offending your audience. Yes, it was a concern in those days. JD
Magnificent !!! Saw Jack in concert in Glasgow a ccouple of weeks ago and he was sensational ! I've been a fan for over 40 years and can't believe that he just gets better and better. He's simply the best. Mike Renzi on piano was amazing too.
Jack Jones is awesome in concert and have had the pleasure of this amazing experience many times since the seventies and nobody does it better...hope Grammy gives this legend a Lifetime Achievement...long overdue! Bravo Jack and thanks for keeping on...this performance is the ultimate!!!
jack reaffirms it's okay to grow older. He is one of the best live shows you will ever see. He works well with his audience for he is funny and charming. I guess it's that he is from good genes, for he is 72 now, and the chicks still flip when they see him.
I grew up listening to JJ thanks to my parents' good taste. I had the privilege of meeting him in the early 1990s: I was walking past the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall's stage door on my way to Rock City and there he was, signing autographs and chatting to fans. I was wearing grunge clothes and has long hair. I told him, much to his apparent amazement, that I loved the song Friends from his Harbour album. He was so nice and happily chatted away. The man's a legend!
If it gets any better than this, I challenge someone to send me a link. If you do send me a link, it will just be another one of Jack's numbers! Magnificent, magnificent.
Definitely underrated. His voice and phrasing are truly unmatched. A genuinely gifted to the core singer/musician...Jack Jones (I knight you "Sir Jack Jones".) Nice to know he appreciates his fans, like me. I hope to hear him sing in San Fran this Spring. And Michel Le Grand songs are the best...Oooo la la.
OMG! I forgot to thank picturefan for capturing this amazing YT! Thank you so much...love Jack Jones and this is the definitive interp of this Legrand classic! TY TY TY!!!!
I was there that night and Jack was magic. Thanks so much for saving this wonderful memory for me. There is no better singer...now or ever than Jack Jones. He also happens to be a very nice person, who truly appreciates his fans. Keep going Jack, you just get better.

All singers.....try to do this......with this technique, time, phrasing and sensitivity. If you can....you're doing really good. Keep singing.
