  • I'm 36 and going for my RN nothing and no one is stopping me!

  • my mother will be 43 this yera and just started back to school in august....youre never told old to learn. i'm only 22 and i'm technically and a returning adult student and seen as non-traditional because i have a daughter and a husband...its life! you live you learn and then you make better decisions! GOD BLESS, NEVER STOP PUSHING FORWARD!!! p.s. o graduate in may with my AAS in nursing ;)

  • Amen!!!

  • Maybe that person always grew up hearing negative talk. I have family members who always think its too late or they are too stupid. You are such an inspiration ! I am 32 also and never had a career.I just started my first year of college.

  • I turned 35 last month and I started nursing school this month!

"It's never too late to be what you might have been.". George Elliot

  • people are so silly plz forget the idiot i mean come on some people are just ridiculous

  • You keep doing whatchu do!! Have a bless day! Nobody, will, box, me in! Theres, a word for tht...HATER with that being said, let all the, NEGATIVITY ROLLO OFF, U LIKE SWEAT:-)

  • Amen girl!! Amen!!!

  • Your absoulutely right! I'm about to turn 35 and am making a career change from to nursing. It's never too late.

  • I sure hope it's not to late...Lol I'm so with you. I'm 44 years old and mbarking on a career in nursing as well. I've been on my job 12 years, I'm a supervisor. I'm smart enough to know that I have outgrown my position and brave enough to do something about it. More power to you, NBS.

  • AND I have been doing this while working full time as an RDA at a dental office. Age has nothing to do with it, will power and determination do. Hey those negative comments, brush that dirt off your shoulders girl and keep pushing...God bless:)

  • Im also a HS dropout, in my late dirty thirties. And you know what, I have been going to school since 1997, got my HS diploma in 98, got my RDA license in 2000, continued in school aiming towards a degree in dental hygiene, got my AA in math and science in 2006, just when I was close to apply for Hygiene school switched major to nursing. That was 2009, started nursing school in 2010, and I'm still pushing forward. And yes, your kids look up to you and respect your hard work. I know my kids do

  • ARGHHHH I have just started watching your video, and Im already fuming! How dare this person say that to you? Just because theyre giving up on life, hopes and dreams atfter a certain age does not mean that theyre right, theyre stupid, ignorant and are where they are probably because of their box mentality. It is never too late to learn, its never too late to grow mentaly, physicaly or spiritualy. And forget those who tell you otherwise.

  • You are so right, you constantly change as a person and things happen when they are supposed too. I studied information and pr at university for one year, but didn't feel it was the right path for me. Now I'm studying nursing and am very happy to have found my dream. It's a dream I Never knew I had. But I don't regret or think too much about my earlier choices because they lead me to my dream. :)

  • I commend you for reaching your goals and your actually setting such a good example for your children. Someones age shouldn't stop them from progressing that is just how I see it. My father is an immigrant from India who had a Masters in Arts but in Canada it doesn't hold any value, the first 10 years in Canada he worked on a farm and now he is working as an Industrial Electrician because he went to school(in his 30's) and now he is 56 and still going to school! He said it makes him feel young:)

  • Ty you are never to old to go to school. I'm 43 and am about to embark on my 2nd career like you. Follow your dreams and never let anyone tell you different. I hope your 2012 Spring semester is going well for you. Also, you are an inspiration to me. You're an amazing and beautiful women!! HUGS - Susan

  • I'm divorced mother of 2, I'm 38 (yikes!) and you know what? I'm going for it too. Your never too old. You'd be the same age you'd be if you did nothing, so like Nike says: JUST DO IT! My sister went back to school at 42 & has been a Repiratory Therapist for 10 years & loving her job. I'm an Childbirth instructor per diem, & I waitress on the side.Waitressing has been very good to me however, I don't want to waitress anymore! Love you Ty. Your an inspiration girl. I'm grateful to have found you!

  • You are absolutely correct!!! I too am in my 30s and decided to change careers to become a nurse. I have women in my classes who are in their 50s and I think it is great! I feel bad for people who are so narrow minded. You have a great attitude and keep on doing what you are doing. I look forward to your videos!

  • I'm sorry I thought this was YOUR channel ? No matter whether or not nursing is your 2nd or 3rd career at least your pursing something.Your videos inspire me. I love your ambition ,and you strong personality . This isn't meant to be a "racial" comment but there aren't too many black women pursing anything but being a rap video or marrying an athlete {no shade}. Ty I respect you for that from one single parent to another 'salute" & congratulations your almost at the finish line :) Xoxoxoxoxo

  • i'm 35 and in school to become an LPN. I not the oldest, the majority are youngsters and sometimes i feel older than i am. Would that stop me? no. Do i assume the position of an older student that others look up to with respect? yes!

  • This topic really hit a nerve with me kinda the same way, because i feel like we took the same path and the only difference is I have four children and I was a couple years younger when I went to LPN school and I am 36 and I am going back to school to get my RN-BSN and possibly my masters and I think its the closed mindedness that limit people and I think thats bullcrap !!!!!

  • And i hope the person that asked u that go to school n do what they have to do now bcuz if he/she gets "tooooo old" with kids, family or whatever. if life just happens to them then its gone b hell when they get your age cuz theyll b too old ( as he/she say)

  • heeeeeeellllllllllllllll no! i cant stand to hear an older person say its too late for them to go back or doesnt want to go bcuz they acting the younger folks age."O im old now n dont FEEL like it." well my moms 48 and im praying that she goes to be an RN

  • the devil is very, very busy out there..people out there with that kind mind set will always try to rattle your mind and your thinking..lets say it straight..THERE ARE A LOT OF HATERS OUT THERE..miss ty you go girl..its your life..being so positive for you and those beautiful children that you have..stay strong.

  • the person who wrote that 2 you has nothing going on in their life..got a lot of nerve..you don't have to defend yourself to that person..you hold your head up high..at least you got something going on in your life.the fantastic thing about nursing is that there are so many people of so many ages and stages..btw..i am attending college, working, have 5 kids and have been an lpn for 26 years..and i am 50+ years old.

  • Don't allow the narrow, negative minds of a few ignorant people get to you. There is no expiration dates on your goals and dreams and when you have kids you should show them that they can finish school and that through hard work they will accomplish a lot in life and be successful. You are doing the right thing don't worry about them idiots.

  • There is abosolutely no reason for someone to ask you this. Your right, no matter your age or circumstance you can become success in what ever you want to do. I really hate that this seems like it bothered you. People like that do not deserve you're time or thought because its very obvious they are ignorant. You are so inspirational and truly a role model.Keep doing what youre doing Mama!

  • shit! I have more than three ladies in my nursing classes that are over the age of 50!

  • I actually feel sorry for the narrow mind that asked you that question. That tells me that they have put an expiration on their goals and dreams. Don't let them upset you, instead pray for them because it sounds to me like they need it now and in the future. There is a guy in one of my classes who is 50 years old and I was actually happy for him to be there. It is never too late. People who know the least always have shit to say and want to say it loud. Tell them to have a seat and be quiet!

  • its none of that persons business anyway. like you said when you still have breathe in your body, you can do whatever you want. great response. im 23yrs old and im just now starting my pre-reqs for nursing. so Ty keep doing what you are doing, and God will bless you thoroughly :)

  • I am a 34 yo LPN and mother still in school working towards my RN. Remember...there's NO shortage of idiots. People can and will say what they want, but as long as you do YOU... that's all that matters... Keep on keepin on!

  • Girl, we all know folks are ignorant! You are doing exactly what you're suppose to be doing @ the right time. Their question was sprinkled with salt! OK!!!!! Handle your biz!

    #Keep calm & carry on!

  • I am 30 years old and I am a soon to be nursing student. Thank-You for setting those non-believers straight, GOD Bless!

  • Don't let that get you mad!! Stay the course....I'm 32 as well and I'm working on my second cheer too but in OT....Keep up the fight...

  • I'm a 26 year old nursing student, there are a lot of younger students in my program but there are also quite a few older students. You're never to old to make the decision to better your life by going to school!

  • it aint old if you dont have a brain, you go nurse brown skin. im 20 years old.

  • Seriously? Someone said that? 32 too old? really? I'm 32 and just starting the nursing program and I'm not the oldest student. My age has helped me so much and stuff made sense to me because of my age and my experience.

  • I agree with you. No age limit!!! Love the sweatshirt by the way, I'm Dominican. ;).

  • We are never to old to do what makes us happy...age is a myth to me.

  • 32 is young.. Knowledge has no statue of limitation for age nor race! I am 25 and almost done with my prerequisites in hopes of getting into the R.N. program with in the next few months and my husband is 35 on his journey to becoming a Doctor. We have a few kids ourselves as do you (5) and many people have told both of us your too old to go back to school...my opinion on that is my age doesn't retrain us from doing what we want in this life, this is my life and it shouldn't retrain you either.-

  • Amen Girl more confirmation for me !!! Thank you for this video.

  • MANNNNN, speak that!!

  • WOW!! Who in the heck said this?!!!! Wehter you are 22 or 92, you are never too old to go to school. I have four kids, and I am 30 years old, finishing my first degree in April. When I finish, I am going to nursing school.

  • I don't think there's a age limit to education. We are the same age people have made those comments to me also. I will never give up my hopes and dreams because of what someone else thinks. I am older and wiser now, like Oprah said when you know better you do better. Comments like that give me the motivation to keeo on.

  • I'm inspired by you and what you're doing. I admire you for being able to do what you have done and you keep on. You're never too old to change your life, that's pretty much giving up and being satisfied no matter what your circumstances are. I'd never settle for anything when I can always attain more. Good luck to whoever that person is, I hope his or her mentality changes.

  • Thank you for this. I really needed this today
