  • I have that in my CD collection.

There are some great recordings on there.

  • @blueBlackpurple Is this CD still in print? if so, please let me know where I can order it!?

  • @leroy592 I'm not sure if it is still in print because I ordered mine years ago. I'm not sure where I ordered it from, but it was probably from the company that had the commercials on TV.

You should get as much information about the CD set that you can, and then check with some CD stores in your area like Borders Books & Music or F.Y.E (formerly Sam Goody) to see if they can find out if it is still in print. Amazon.com is another option, although I have never ordered anything through them.

  • @blueBlackpurple I saw it at F.Y. E. music about 7 years ago and didn't buy it. I'll try Amazon.com. thanx.

  • @leroy592 I bought this for my ex around 99-2000. But the commercial happened to come on TV. I believe that time life sells it. You can go on timelife.com and look for it.

  • @TheStaceyAdamz I ordered it, it just came in the mail today.

  • I remember this commercial on BET. That's "Greer Childs" LOL

  • Hey Love...the classic sounds of sexy soul!!!

  • Thanks for sharing! This commercial is a classic. The young man who is speaking, "No man, you have to buy your own" is Melvin Lindsey who was a popular Washington DC DJ. He passed away in 1992. So sad. Great memories.

  • You are mistaken, my brother...John Canada Terrell was the one speaking that famous line and he is alive and well living in Philly. I know this for a fact...google his name and see for yourself.

  • Thanks. He looks like Melvin Lindsey. My bad. Apologize for the mix up.

  • @Najenn you mean Flash from Five Heartbeats is dead?

  • Before...

  • CLASSIC Commercial I never got tired of seeing. I coped the CD set a few years back...AWESOME Collection of REAL Music!

  • I been looking for this commercial for years

  • I remember seeing this commerical used in the 1989 movie House Party with Kid and Play Robin Harris talks about in one scene where he says "Only they show nowadays, coming through the god damn walls"

  • oh my God. this was my FAVORITE COMMERCIAL WHEN i WAS GROWING UP!!!!

  • I remeber seeing this video as a kid in Chicago in the late 70s/early 80s. It always came on the then local WGN, especially when Soul Train would be playing. It would also come on late night on the weekends. That last line is a classic.

  • I am hoping someone can help me. There is a song that I have been searching for years. I'm not sure what the title of the song is or who the artist is, but I do know the song went something like this "hey love, you've got me on my knees baby" and it goes on

  • hilarious lol

  • I remember seeing this commercial when I was in junior high school. I would come home and sit down to watch "Video Vibrations" on BET, with "The Unseen VJ", Alvin Jones. I had seen that commercial so much, I knew each song by heart.

    Those were the days!

  • JheriCurlJankins that's funny you should say that cuz as I watched this post, I automatically knew what song was next, and I haven't seen this commercial in damn near 25 years!

  • no my brutha u gotta buya own!!!

  • omg it says it cost $19.98 plus $400 for shipping and handling at the end of the video.

  • yeah... that's four dollars. not four hundred.

  • I was being sarcastic. But since you took your time out to reply thank you konakazi. I would have gone along with my entire life thinking that the cost of shipping on this album was 400 dollars. Your a life saver.

  • zomg work on your comedy routine!

  • can i give you a hug? i lub you!

  • Ummm.. I think that's $4.00 Doof!

  • I think it's still available thru the Time-Life Music website.

  • I think anybody who remember this commercial can relate it to some point in their lives when

family would get together and have a good time, or when B.E.T. was worth watching.

  • lol This commercial is awesome! They used to air it every five seconds. They even played in House Party. Classic stuff.

  • Holy crap, that Flash from The 5 heartbeats saying that famous line.. lol I never noticed that before

  • Great commercial! Doesn't have that slick corporation feel - more like it was patched up fast by a few buddies. It's just so cool.

  • I bought this back in the day. They didn't even use the original master recordings. Some cuts you can hear record hiss and crackle. Haaa! Damn

  • Classic.

  • I own this album!!!! Yes, I bought it from the TV ad way back when - good stuff!!!

  • YESSSSS!!! I finally found the CLASSIC "Hey Love" commercial!! I swear this was on just as much as it was in House Party! Memories!

  • "No my brother, you got to buy your own!" CLASSIC!

  • Man im only 21 but seeing this commerical in the early 90s brings so many memories, this would be shown during late night on BET, all though i was young i still remember when B.E.T. was actually worth watching, but now, it doesnt get one second from me.

  • I have the CD. Full of old school hits!...

  • noooo my brotha!! You gotta get your own! LOL!!! I remember marlon said that on the wayans bro show when shaun was going back into the jerri curl business and they filmed a commercial where pops was outside of a club and couldnt get in cause he was trying to "pimp" up his image and marlon walked by with a long shaggy curl and gold pants and pops asked marlon for some jeri curl activator he was used outside of the club to get in!!! LOLOL

  • all these songs are rap songs now

  • Granted, rap is alot of remade and reused samples of old classics, MOST of these song aint on a rap track homie. Don't trip though I get the implication.

  • An album. I had to explain to my kids what that was, LOL

  • I have heard a lot of these songs on the Rev X show....Maybe he is getting royalties on the sales LOL

  • OMG Its almost insane how you have this. Tell me, You know a distribution or something that sells just tapes of classic commercials or something?

  • Eh... well, I see these commercials on other people's pages, and I sorta 'borrow' them! I think this one originally came from a site called 'TV Party', but I can't remember. Anyway, glad you enjoy it!

  • Thank you FOREVER!!!!!! I've been looking for this.

  • This compilation's still on the market...now it's marketed by Malaco Records (and it is split into two separate CDs).

    It's also avaliable in stores.

  • LMMFAO!!! the memories came rushing back! this shit was hilarious then, and it's just as funny now: "no, my brotha, you got to buy your OWN!" thanx 4 posting!! ;)

  • All these years and B.E.T. is still NOT in stereo?? I mean the sound quality is about the same as this damn commercial!! What's up with the millionaire C.E.O.'s that have NOT updated this problem that's existed since the 80's..... wow, B.E.T.

  • Thats black business 4 ya (lol). J/K Please don't take that comment seriously......I am African American.

  • Me too, I ain't trippin!!! Come on B.E.T. Why the hell, after ALL THESE YEARS, are you STILL not in STEREO?????? Okay, can we OVERCOME that?????? I mean, your surround sound audio/video means JACK when you put it on your B.E.T. channel!!!! Can you say.......WACK????

  • Yep, it's Flash, also the pretty, conceited dude in "She's Gotta Have It", and the bartender in "Def By Temptation"!! (anybody remember that one!?!?!) I'm glad this commercial was posted and you're right toredoboy, this is when B.E.T was really something. On another note, QUESTION: Why in the hell is B.E.T. "STILL" a mono station?

  • LOL that's Flash from The Five Heartbeats!

  • Where is the Rough Side of the Mountain commercial or the "Who in Hell Left The Gate Open"

  • Back when BET actually was cool. Now THAT'S entertainment! Thanks for the post!!

  • Fantastic! Praise youtube users for posting this piece from my youth! It hasn't lost it's touch

  • i love this commercial. i remember this in da movie house party

  • house party. "its so damn hot in here, i swore i saw the damn devil sittin in the living room" rip pops.nice post. im subscr.

  • Luv it, Thankx

  • Didn't they reprise the "no, my brother" bit for a record called "Soul Time"?

  • They also quoted it in "Say Anything" with the Cusacks and Ione Skye

  • I have seen this damn shit so many damn times its a damn shame! LMAO!

Bet ran his into the ground!

  • OMG....BET used to air this commercial all the time back in the day!!

the best part is toward the end...when the man wanted to burrow it: "This is a fantastic album, can i burrow it...No my brother, YOU GOT TO BUY YOUR OWN!!"
