Always very funny...japanese sabre and their cutting techniques. I was hoping as well on european martial arts. Never the less; i don't know if he is really good with that big knife, but he is a great show man... compliments....
i actually know russle hes a good friend of my dads. he lives in southlake texas well i think he still does him and my dad havent talked in a while he had a girlfriend named vannesa we went to the south lake town square arts festival and had pizza but hes no slow poke he still holds the world record for cutting a piece of bamboo 4 times in one second my dad might still have his phone number
VERY SORRY... Looking at it again it still looks like a korean sword. Shiny brass looking fittings small no niku swoerd... Not very Japanese looking... Being that old it would have been polished at least 3 times, so that covers most of those issues. I know Sensei used to compete in Korea almost 10 years ago. Hell even my sensei uses an MAS for demos.... BUT I guess I am wrong... MY BAD.
No worries. I think he spent quite a bit on new hardware, but you can tell the tsuba is a standard musashi style. However, I'm not sure how you can see if there is niku or not. I do love some of the MAS swords though. I wouldn't mind getting the L6 Shirayuri Katana from them :). Anyway, hope your training is going well, and maybe we'll see you at the 2009 Battle of Atlanta.
no one takes notice that he uses Korean swords not Japanese... Look like MAS blades but korean style... It can be seen in their fittings and their profile... A dead give away is how easy he does two sword forms with them... Where those more traditional size they would not be quite so easy to whip around:)
Sorry Ricky, I don't know who told you he uses korean swords or korean-style swords, but that is incorrect. In fact, in this video he is using a Japanese sword made in the 16th or 17th century (it was either 1550 or 1650, I can't remember). Another example, the sword he used in senbongiri was a Japanese gendaito made by Kanehide (a very famous smith in the 20th century). As for why the two sword technique looks easy...that would be dedicated training.
WTF is this jap-crap??? HEMA > Kendo

He is so slow! He'd get killed for real. Look at Otake's clips. He is the real deal.

bah I was hoping for genuine european martial arts. Fiore dei Liberi, Johannes Liechtenauer, Sigmund Ringeck, that kind of stuff...
