They've started doing this crap on every good show lately, saying things like tea bagging judge, people that wear don't tread on me shirts,I have to stop watching as soon as they do that crap
Why do you feel like it's propaganda? Normally I would agree with you, I hate when writers use shows as some kind of political soap box. But in some situations certain things just fit. What Loo was going through is something that a lot of people are dealing with IRL. And Law and Order is known for it's "ripped from the headlines" style. Why wouldn't they incorporate real life when doing a storyline with one of their main characters?
Don't take character's opinions as a political statement of the show as a whole. Law & Order has, and still, tries to balance out the cast of characters with contrasting political views. If I remember the premiere correctly, Cutter was against the prosecution of the US Attorney. And also take this weeks episode, the cast had different opinions on abortion. Glad you're a L&O addict like me, and hope you still keep watchin. I hope the show not only beats, but demolishes the Gunsmoke record.
I love the show and tackle quite a few sticky issues. I remember the 2-parter regarding the death penalty. They do a great job of presenting both sides and making the emotional component realistic. But this has NOTHING to do with the sticky issue of the law, unless she's planning a lawsuit! :)
