They don't make comedy like this anymore, and everything is just raunch. I mean, Dennis was very clever and conniving. I mean, how he pulled that off with that kid taking his place, and how he got into the theater. I'm not sure when they replaced mute Timmy with Tommy. I wonder what happened. Maybe Timmy was just too dull.

I loved these shows when I was Dennis' age.

Older now, I see the situation differently and identify with the parents. Mrs. Mitchell sure looks different!

Most of the time Dennis was a well meaning boy who just couldn't manage things well. This episode shows him more devious than usual.

The show had two benefits. One was that, parents who watched this, learned to be more understanding of a child's mishaps. Two was that, the children watching, learned there are consequences to their acts.

Dennis the Menace season 1 is now available on DVD. Season two comes out around the 26th of July I think. Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Shoutfactory. I spent years looking for this on DVD but it just came out in March. Finally!
