Wow je savais pas qu'il existait une adaptations française de The Office eh bien j'aurais préféré ne jamais le découvrir.

Les mêmes blagues en moins drôle avec des acteurs moins bien et un environnement plus terne.

Et attention je ne dit pas que le problème vient de l'adaptation puisque The Office US en est une aussi et est probablement la meilleure de toutes.

It is interesting to compare the French version (Le Bureau) and Québec version (La Job). Just from the titles you can see the difference in culture.

@jackrussell19a Ya sure thing but The American version was done with the approval, the support of Ricky Gervais creator of the original show, and he also is a producer, whereas this version is simply a typical,french "we-don't-have-any-ideas-so-le­t's-steal-from-other-countries­-and-not-tell-anyone", plus it's not funny, the actors are no good, the set is no good,etc,etc...

That's my problem with this version, if your gonna steal, at least be good at imitating That's all :)

Depuis tout le fiasco Irakien, par contre, le sentiment a été bien réel même pour beaucoup de personnes qui devraient être bien au-dessus de ça. Ça arrange pas les choses que la culture US moderne se cramponne comme un chien en rut à des comportements de plus en plus absurdes et haineux, avec "MURRICAN FREE SPEECH™" comme excuse à chaque fois.

Copier intégralement l'idée de The Office était une très mauvaise idée. François Berléan qui est un très bon acteur en temps normal, mais il est vraiment ridicule dans cette série. Les dialogues sont mauvais, pas réalistes. Comment gaspiller de l'argent quoi ! Ceux qui en ont l'occasion, regardez The Office UK ! Vous verrez que Le Bureau en est une parodie.

But I got the impression that the person I was responding to probably didn't even know the american version was just an extremely pale imitation of the original.

Watch the pilots of both versions, they are pretty similar, I've watched most of the UK version, I prefer the US version because I think they have a lot more little jokes they catch with the camerawork and reaction shots.

Yeah, that's because the US pilot is using the script from UK episode 1. The only thing they changed were the names. To their credit, they immediately started producing original episodes, which probably accounts for most of the success the show has enjoyed. But personally I don't like it. Your milage may vary, of course.

All the dialogue is from the original UK scripts, just translated into French. Funny, I didn't think that approach would really work, but it does. The interpretations of the characters and the performances are all quite comparable.
