Hey, mediacow, I've noticed you're making a couple of basic mistakes. Not to dis you, or anything. These are a few tips to help you out:

1. When emerging from cloak mode to fire a gun, DO NOT JUST FIRE THE GUN. Instead, switch to armor mode then fire. the reason for this is because if you shoot while in cloak all your remaining NRG will be sapped instantly.

2. use power sprint/jump a LOT more. using these while engaging enemies will make you harder to shoot at.

@WoWLeetplayers Oh, and one more: Switching to cloak mode while under fire can give you precious time to reload, analyze, modify, etc. If you learn to use these three strats wisely and in good conjunction with one another, you should have no issues Power-Owning this game on max Diff settings.

How is Alcatraz cloaked if you can still see his shadow? They should've made it so that his nanosuit fiber-things reflect all of the colors of the visible spectrum. That way I believe he'd be invisible and also not reveal his position because of a shadow. If I left something out please reply!

If I remember this properly, if every color of the visible spectrum is reflected it either means 1 of 2 things. 1. He'd be invisibly blurred (like the Predators from AvP) and be shadowless. or 2. He'd just be very, VERY white.

@UNSCAce Actually you're wrong on both accounts. If all light was bent around him, then he would be black. For him to be transparent, he would have to emit the reflected light of all objects he is obstructing, like a TV screen that plays a video of what is behind it. Either way, there is no way he wouldn't have a shadow. To avoid that, the suit would need to project the perfect amount of light at the precise area that the suit-wearer is obstructing. not very feasible.

Just started this game last night--came hear to get a little understanding of how to use the mini-map icons. Looks like enemies are marked without having to tag them. Mainly I am wondering is there any way to turn off that annoying voice--"cloak engaged--cloak engaged". I played the original crysis -- it allowed you to turn off the suit voice.

@jus1202 Being cloaked means something totally different then being invisible. Being invisible means light just goes right through you. Being cloaked means light is bending around you causing the illusion of being partly invisible, but since light is still hitting the figure you can still see a shadow. :)

If you're in the middle of a bunch of Cephs & you becoming visible or your protection goes, then, dependant on The type & or number of Cephs and Cell soldiers, you're probably going to end up dead and restarting from the last save. What's the point in that when you can save time - and not feel you're cheating with endless reloads - and be a bit stealthy and avoid situations that'll get you in the shit?

im amazed people are still ignorant of what a cloaking device. since the suit covers the outside of the body like a table clothe does a table. the mass of the of the table is still there so the body is still there, just covered, hence the shadow. to erase all trases of the player and his shadow he would have to be a non existence. also, logic would dictate when looking for someone, you don't look for there shadow first. :/

A cloaking device just bends the light around him so he blends into his environment like a chameleon does. using a massive amount of tiny mirrors or whatever item they use to reflect/bend the light away from him so he can go into ultimate camouflage mode aka stealth mode. hence why he still has a shadow is because he is still there. one cannot fully erase themselves using that suit.
