bzhfbz your complete;y wrong!!! higher octane means more compression in the cylinder equaling more power. in my snow cross sled we run c 12 because it has 110 octane meaning lots of power. and drag racers run 91 octane and up to get more power. why would they run low octane they would have no power at all. its good that your trying to help answer a guys question but you really have it all wrong

actually higher octane gas burns cooler than lower octane, so when you run cooler, you make more power, you have to rejet/remap for higher octane fuel to gain advantage of it.....

hey man... just to help back you up... the lower the octane of the fuel the more potential energy is has.... so 87 has more power then 110.... drag racers will run the lowest octain posible with out detenation useing the hi-comp heads and advanced timing.... that other guy has no idea what he is talkin about

you run lower octane with a high octane set up... and you have more power... lower octane fuel burns faster... so with the advanced timing curve of the hi comp set up you get more power.... drag racers will lower the octane level as much as they can with out goin so low that they get detonation

i think the 600 has a higher top speed but it take longer to get there than the 440 beacause the 440 is all about acceleration it goes about 80 mph and the 600 goes a bit faster im just not sure hom much
