I've only been to Anime Boston once and never got into the "political" side of things there, so I'm not sure how you are trying to poke fun at them, besides for the fact that they *should* allow Avatar: TLA content in their AMV contest vids. Ever since you posted that you didn't make it in on comedy, you had me interested in what your video was, but I never bothered to look for it. I just did a comedy overflow search in the youtube search engine to see if anyone recorded it (thought I greatly doubted it) and found your video, so I decided to check it out. I will be honest and say I didn't really see it funny, but it was still a good video. As I said to Kiarrens about the Hetalia one, I think this one too should have been in Other.:S

@ProjectAir In hindsight, I'm wondering if Other would have been a better choice. The joke is subtle and requires the audience having seen both the original videos and all the lulz on the AB forums. It does make a fairly narrow audience, I guess, though it would have satisfied me to see it on the big screen. Out of curiosity, did you watch the original version of this AMV (the one for Connecticon)?

Ah. Nope, I cannot say I have. Perhaps why then. Even with a subtle joke, you would have to hope the audience knows it, which would indeed be a bit too..... little I would probably think. Like I said though, yeah, Other most likely would have been better IMHO.....through the eyes of someone who watched it and didn't really catch it. :S...

The only reason I go to Anime Boston is for the AMV's. I can see why it did not make it due to the the AB rules but at the same time, I can honselty say this is Best in Show material. I think the staff got a kick out of it so I don't think they were offended in any way. Good job otherwise as it was well edited and entertaining to watch and good luck for next year.

Yeah, I understand this now that I read through a little bit. I hate it when people don't consider Avatar an anime or get mad when it is considered one. It is what it is. Anime was originally a term for animation done by the Japanese, but could still be used to refer to other animated shows. Anime itself has become a genre more than animation coming just from one country. In avatar a lot of the expression, music, animation origin, and culture is from Asia so it should be considered one.

Lol. I'm going to be completely honest and say that I'm not quite sure I understand the joke you were trying to pull off... ^^; The video was pretty good as far as timing is concerned, but I didn't really understand it.

@sweetangel1927 My major problem was that the joke was catered to a very narrow audience. Long story short, I'm still mad at Anime Boston for first telling me Avatar was allowed in the AMV contest for 2 years, then saying "lol jk" just as soon as my AMVs were decent enough to make the finals. AB's AMV contest requires that the video be 75% anime. This vid is literally exactly 25% Avatar, screen space-wise. But Avatar is popular despite what the elitists say, so I was making fun of AB's policy.
