  • got jacked up but should've Been a penalty

  • its not fag football let play football what a great hit pussy comtaters

  • those who think the defender lowered his pads correctly and the return man just happened to walk into the helmet to helmet blow.....still a penalty. defender should have gotten lower b/c if that was a tackle on an athlete aware and running...they might have just run through it...he was still pretty high for a fundamentally sound football tackle. one step and wrap, two steps and squeeze, fork lift with eyes to the sky and drive drive drive.

  • badass for gettin back up.

  • haha. his mommy's my math teacher so we see this alot.

  • WOW.look at the score. And it's only the start of the third quarter

  • jesus christ...

  • i was sitting right there in front of that hit when that happened in the staduim i live in mobile

  • i bet the refs forget some of these new rules i mean. the ones that have been in the league 13, 14, 15 seasons

  • lol exactly what the commentator said he got absolutely blowned up!!

  • holy shit this looks amazing in HD...

atleast the fuck tards at ESPN can get that right

  • tulsa is pretty beast

  • tulsa is pretty weak you mean?... beast my ass rofl.

  • holy shit

  • how the f does some get tackled f ing hard llol

  • that is so a personal foul

  • its ppl like you that are changing this sport for the worse.....its the returners fault for not signaling a fair catch

  • It's not the returner's fault that Roberts led with his head, though.

  • my favorite one is when he picked it off against ou... or this one since bowling green was ranked 22 at the time...

  • Lol my favorite roy roberts moment was when Adrian Peterson RAN OVER HIS A**. Up against real competition he's nothing. Check it out, its on youtube

  • dude im going to bowling green we rock too dude ill PWN all day and youll see when we OWN tulsa and buddy you can say ass wassa matter mommy gona catch you?!

  • What are you talking about?! I don't care if you guys beat Tulsa, I go to OU and was talking about when Adrian Peterson (you know the NFL's leading rusher last year) ran over this kid in the video knocking him on his ass when OU played Tulsa.

  • Still is a laugh to hear Andre Ware. First, he says that hit is football at its finest. Then, backs down when other announcer wonders if it was helmet-to-helmet. Later in game, Andre Ware criticizes Tulsa for "running up the score". This is the same guy that was on Houston's team that ran up over 100 against Tulsa. What a horrible announcer.

  • that was not a penalty

  • True dat. Homie didn't even call fair catch. That's just football. If anything homie didn't have his chin strap on good enough because that mufucka went flyin!!! Lol

  • I'M SO PROUD TO BE A HURRICANE!!!!!

  • GO GOLDEN HURRICANES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • obviously u wernt at the game and no nothing about football no helmment to helmetbody hit before his head and no call so ur not smarter or more qualified then the reffs good try kid

  • all i can say when i see this video is "BOOM"!!!

  • no helmet to helmet killer hit go tulsa

  • CLEARLY helmet to hemet r-tard.

    Go TU!

  • damn

  • OMG! that is what i call a tackle did tha guy that got tackled die? lol

  • Man Nigga Tonio Tough As Fuck Rockets 4 Life Fuck Wut Dey Say.... NFL Bound

  • you can be damn sure this guy fair catches next time, thats gotta hurt

  • yes i would do that too :D

  • go roy baby! thas my boy! lol i like to think of this play as fair catch enforcement! lol

  • he held on to the football thats good football

  • This guy ran a punt back for the only 7 points that bowling green scored in that record setting beat down. This is how he payed for that touchdown.

  • I was there. Go Tu.

  • canes 14-0 and to the orange bowl baby

  • maybe he should've fair caught it lol

  • I love how that idiot play-by-play guy was claiming punt returners are "defenseless". Evidently, he isn't aware of the whole "fair catch" rule.

  • only the play by play guy is whining about the hit not being a penalty

the color commentator seemed to love it but agreed with his partner in order to avoid any argument

  • Well this year that will be a penalty now. Where is Tulsa and who do they play? Thats what I thought. NOBODY

  • nov 1 they play arkansas u droolin cunt

  • if those sports castors knew anything bout college rules they'd kno that helmet 2 helmet calls do not exist in college football.

his commentary was hilarious though,"LOSES HIS HELMET, GETS ABSOLUTELY BLOWN UP by Roy Roberts"

  • DAYUM. TU is awesome. GO CANES!

  • Man i left this game right before this happened!

  • Ouch that guy's gonna be brain-traumatized for lief now :P

  • Shut up ESPN commentators. How come Tulsa can't get good ones. Always complaining about their stadium and crap like that. Wait till next year because they are redoing the whole thing. By the way that was a clean hit. It was helmet to helmet but he didn't lead with his head. Great hit and perfectly clean. TU blows away suckish Bowling Green and Roy Roberts jacks somebody up. I was there. GO TU!!!!!! Clean Hit. Shut up ESPN. By the way I still see that on Sports Center A.K.A ESPN.

  • Definitely should have been a helmet to helmet penalty (must have been MAC refs, only they could miss such an obvious penalty), and definitely was very awesome hit.

  • they dont call helmet to helmet in college

  • Not a penalty. It was clean. Didn't lead with his helmet. I was there go TU.

  • OMFG, this hit was insane !!!

  • ur moms a helmet-to-helmet!!

  • hAHA

  • Would these Idiots stop bitchin about the awesome hit... it was clean... sorta GO TU!

  • i waz there and it looked a lot worse then...

  • U GOT FUKED UP LMAO LOVELY HIT!!!

  • Looked like a legal hit to me. You don't want to be hit, call for a Fair Catch!

  • JACKED UP!!!

  • Now Thats what i call football!!!!

  • who is this sissy fuck announcer...good lord...since the beginning of the fucking game of football...EVERYONE was taught head up and drive through...which fucking means your head will almost ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS hit first...football is seriously losing its core value...a tough collision sport id becoming more like a fuckin touch me feel me up and jerk me off type game....its bullshit

  • how did he hold on to that ball

  • straight out of ardmore high school

  • Props to Smith for keeping the ball.

  • Also, check out my boy #55 strutting off the field after the hit.

  • rofl i was watchin that game, so great to watch live

  • Perfectly clean hit in my opinion.

  • He lowered his pads at a full run and hit the man. It so happened that his moving target walked directly in front of him and lowered his head 2 seconds before impact. If every time a helmet came in contact with another it was a foul, the game of football would cease. "Intentional Helmet to Helmet contact is never legal." p 10 NCAA Football rules He was not defenseless. He could have waved his hand and fair caught. He decided to play aggressive, took a monster hit & got up holding the ball.

  • He was defenseless in the sense that he was waiting for the ball to come down, of course he could've called a fair catch but that doesn't change really anything.

  • He needs to learn to tighten his helmet better. Players like to keep the chin strap either loose or not on.

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNN

dat nigga got fucked up lol

  • Helmet to helmet happens all the time - the question is whether he led with his helmet - which he did NOT...these announcers were weak all night.

  • You know what tulsa spelled backwards is: a slut

  • wow, everyone figured that out when they were in 4rd grade, your really mature

  • someone shut up that announcer

  • nah it was helmet to helmet, but who cares? This isn't soccer. It wasn't late. It wasn't dirty. It's football. Their helmets just happened to hit because the return guy had to squat down a little to catch the punt.

  • Here's a crazy idea: Cut your hair so the helmet fits + stays on.

  • There was no chance they could win that game and then they had a player take a super hit too! Like adding insult to injury.

  • If you want get a good job it's good , I don't mind..

Good Luck and May God Bless !!!

I just want to help out people that are open minded and think BIGGG !!!

  • Check this out:

Get a real job, save up your money, take care of your shit, YOU CAN TOO!

  • Waaaah waaaah waaaaah it's football. The announcers were whining about what meanies Tulsa was being the whole game. I say Bowling Green was the team they should've been mad at. You don't lose 63-7 unless you just completely mail it in and give up. They're the ones who should be ashamed, not Tulsa!

  • I gotta ask QueenOfBBQ, are you in favor of penalizing players every time helmet to helmet contact is made? Could you imagine a linebacker having to try to make tackles and fight off blocks without ever delivering a hit with his head?

Seriously dude, there's a reason girls don't play the game.

  • You must have some kind of mental problem or something, your definition and my definition of a helmet to helmet hit is way off.

He DIVED head first into his helmet. That's much different than just bumping a helmet on your way down.

Get your facts straight you fucking 12 year old.

  • amen...

  • If you'll look at the replay you can see that Roy Roberts' feet were still on the ground at the moment of contact, so contrary to your assertion, he did not dive at him. I'm not talking about bumping helmets on the way down either. If a running back runs up the middle I see no problem with I linebacker hitting him right in the mouth. It's football.

And judging by the sentence structure of your posts, it's kind of ironic to see you accusing someone of having a mental problem.

  • A dive doesn't always involve feet coming off the ground. He leaned forward with his helmet and hit him with his helmet first. That's different then a linebacker leaning forward wraping up the running back with his arms then bumping him in the facemask. It all really depends on the angle of contact.

You really don't know what you're talking about, this and horsecollars are really the only two forms of tackling not allowed. This isn't turning into touch football.

  • LOL listen to yourself. He leaned forward with his helmet? Is there any other way to tackle? Can you tackle with your chest first? Is he supposed to turn sideways and hit with his shoulder?

Have you watched pro football recently? Last year there was a roughing the passer called on a sack, hitting a receiver over the middle nearly always draws a flag, you can't hit a QB high, you can't hit a QB low.

  • And what's this bumping the facemask crap you're talking about? You don't try to bump anybody in football. You hit them and you hit them hard. If your helmets hit hard so be it. Good Lord I hope you didn't play football, because you'd be one pussy ass football player.

  • Arguing with you isn't going to get my point anywhere, you're to busy talking about one thing while I'm trying to talk about something else. Just ask the other 150 people that commented, it was a bad hit. You're so full of yourself acting like you know everything, but you obviously don't. Just stop talking and get your dick out of your mouth.

  • Since you've failed to articulate whatever point you were trying to make, I'm going to continue to assume you were one pussy ass football player that got his ass kicked every day in practice and never saw the field. But then again judging by your word use(bumping helmets) i doubt you ever took a break from blowing your dad long enough to watch sports, let alone play them.

  • I didn't fail to make any points, your ADHD just prevented you from comprehending them.

    I'm done.

  • you are a huge fag

  • Grow a brain, look at 1:36.

Grow a brain, look at 1:36.

Grow a brain, look at 1:36.

Grow a brain, look at 1:36.

Grow a brain, look at 1:36.

    Say it with me now...

  • Yeah that's an awesome shot at 1:36. Those are the kind of hits players dream of.

  • Yo bitch, thats why you gotta keep your head on a swivel. That was a legal hit in the game of FULL CONTACT football. He should have call for a fair catch.

  • wow your retartd... if every sort of contact was leagal in football.. whats stopping people from pulling knives and stabbing eachother on the way down... there has to be restriction to the type of tackling for the safety of the players... shut the fuck up you 12 year old girl...

  • The restrictions on tackling are growing every year and are starting to get out of hand. Before long football will be a sissy'd down version of it's former self. Seriously, IT'S FOOTBALL! It's a collision sport. Players play the game knowing there is a risk of injury. Watch soccer if you don't want to see people get hurt.

  • oldredskin. "watch soccer if you don't want to see people get hurt"

type in worst soccer tackles ever and watch the video. soccer has just as many injuries as football, and they aren't padded from head to toe.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH....stop it....you're embarrassing yourself.

soccer??? seriously?? i've seen so many fake injuries in soccer with absolutely no contact that it makes me embarrassed to admit i've actually watched soccer. soccer should be classified as a women's sport. freaking grass fairies.

  • you obviously didnt watch the video. just watch it, i think youll like it.

look i respect all sports. and i watch football, but these are the kinds of plays that can kill someone. im all for hard hits that are legal and safe. of course every player risks getting injured in all sports. im just stating the point that soccer has some gnarly shit too. just watch the video! haha

  • That, my friends, is perfect punt coverage. No questions asked.

  • it was a clean hit. no ref would ever call that. you cannot make that tackle from that angle without using your helmet. end of story.

every time two helmets touch in football, it's not a penalty...

  • That's why we have fair catches. I'm not saying it was a clean hit, but maybe he should've made the fair catch call.

  • Im pretty sure that Helmet to Helmet is only in the Pro's...

  • nah its in college football too

  • good for you smith.

  • Watch the slow motion at the end, it was not an ear hole, but a face mask that was hit...completely different.

  • cant believe the guy didnt stumble and fall to the ground again.

  • his fault he didn't fair-cacth it.

  • what surprises me is that he was able to keep the ball in his hands

  • Nice hit.... Period

  • "helmet to helmet, i'm sorry but thats a penalty"

    what a fuckin fagot

  • Look at 1:36 you fucking retard.

  • your a dumbass i was making fun of the announcer shitting his vagina about it. Its the guys own fault he got hit like that anyway.

  • I didn't know tulsa was that good WHOO HOO

  • that was ridiculous

    little helmet shot

    but still, a hard hit

thats pretty disheartening along with that score for bowling green

way to finish the game tulsa

  • there shouldn't be a penalty for a legal hit......he should have waved for a fair catch.

  • it wasnt a legal hit you dumbshit

  • Pause at 1:36. You cannot look at 1:36 and tell me that isn't helmet to helmet.

That's also the kind of tackle that ends up breaking necks... Everyone from Tulsa was jumping and screaming while Roy should've been sitting there on the ground dead with his neck snapped in half from tackling head first.

  • Awesome.

Now say "Tulsa ran up the score."

    Go ahead.

Because I'm sure "everyone from Tulsa" wanted "(Roy) sitting there on the ground dead with his neck snapped in half".

    God what an idiot.

  • that was deadly

  • Yeah, I was watching that game untill the 4th quarter, because Tulsa stoped scoring every 3 minutes...

Anyway, I saw the play when it happened and thought right away "yeah, I bet some stupidass attention bitches are going to film this and upload it".

Oh, and it should've been a penalty. It was a fucking helmet-to-helmet hit, intentional or not it still should've been a penalty.

  • Its funny you say that because I had it on youtube before the 3rd quarter was over, I thought "Damn, I'm an attention whore, i should put this on youtube.

  • LOL nice man.

  • why didnt he call a fair catch?it wasnt very smart to do that

  • well he still held onto it, and i'm sure he's one of there best athletes and was trying to make a play and he could have maybe made one some good athletes can if they had enforced the halo rule where you gotta give him 2 yards

  • ouch

  • Well...Tonio is still an awesome football player.

  • damn what a HIT

  • how should that be a penalty

he should have called for a fair catch

  • You can't say that the penalty should not have been called because the returner did not call a fair catch.

That has nothing to do with it.

  • i was at the game and it was a beast mode hit

  • Reggie Bush was hit harder

  • that should have been a penalty he got his helmet knocked off!

  • Getting one's helmet knocked off is not indicative of a penalty.

  • but it should be he could have been seriously hurt

  • No. No it should not. There are many times in a game where a player can get his helmet knocked off, most all of them in situations with much less vicious hits than this one.

Football is an inherently physical and dangerous sport.

Every returner has the option of a fair catch. This one decided he could maybe muster a few yards, so he risked his safety in not calling a fair catch.

He knew the risks of catching the ball, just like every player knows the risk of playing.

  • Believe me, there are other ways a player can get "seriously hurt" that do not involve the helmet, head or neck in any way.

  • yeah, but most of them do.he could break his back or neck and get paralyzed.can you tell me thats not getting seriously hurt?

  • Yes, he certainly could.

If you could find me some particularly damning in-game college football neck/head injury stats, I might change my mind.

    But not likely.

  • WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Where is the penalty? Are you talking about helmet to helmet contact? Cause he defintely had possesion of the ball...

  • yea, watch the video and you would see it

  • no, i'm pretty sure that was helmet to shoulder

  • if that guy is gonna be that stupid to not call a fair catch, then he is gonna get drilled. that wasn't an intentional 'helmet to helmet'. anyone wouldve made that hit.

  • Dont you love that sound?

  • Great hit. Unlike the bowling ball fans, I will state it was not an illegal hit. Helmet to helmet my ass!

  • are u kidding me actually watch the video their helmets collided and if that isnt enough listen to the sound it makes.

  • Yeah instead of eating popcorn and sitting at your fucking computer with a thumb up your ass watching this shit-quality youtube garbage, you should look CLOSELY at the slow motion replay on an actual TV before you start acting like a smartass.

  • That was helmut to helmut defintely, the dumbshit official had one hand tied around his balls and other up his ass. One of the cheapest hits I've ever seen.

Please don't discuss rugby here, it has no place in football discussions because it's a stupid-ass sport.

  • it was a helmet 2 helmet, but a good 1 tho

  • Lol Tulsa, i always remember that city cos Friends lmao

  • There wasn't much a reason to do that but ultimately the guy's gotta call fair catch there.

  • agreed he should have called fair catch neverless it was a helmet to helmet hit, very dangerous. I think thats probably the hardest hit ive ever seen in college football.

  • is that the best highlight of an American Football game??! man that sport really sucks

  • No.

    No it is not.

No one here is saying that and I'm not sure how you concluded that.

  • Helmet to helmet contact is rarely called in college and it usually involves a hit on the quarterback. If good form tackles that involve helmet to helmet contact start getting penalized I'll have to boycott watching college football like I have the pros. That was just a great form tackle and their helmets happened to hit.

  • Agreed.

I think it should have been called although I think in this instance the tackler had little choice but to do what he did.

It's the returner's responsibility to protect himself, just as it is the quarterback's.

I think you'll agree it would have been very difficult to "square up" and make a traditional "open field" tackle in this instance.

    Roberts made the right decision.

  • ouch i was watching this game.

    total helmet to helmet.

but its his fault for not fair catching.

  • damn

  • That wasn't a helmet-to-helmet hit it was a returner who should've called fair catch.

  • The guy had his head down >:)

  • If you don't want to get hit call fair catch. good hit.

  • thats the best hit i've ever seen

  • I just can't believe he held onto the ball. Wow.

  • I can guarantee 99% of these pussies complaining about the hit never played football, because anyone who did would know it's part of the game.

  • Misslacey i'm guessing you've never played football? You can't make a tackle without your head hitting the guy unless it's an arm tackle. It's physically impossible. And btw ask any coach, the helmet to helmet rule is BS. Players are taught to use the hard surfaces(ie. helmet, tops of shoulder pads) to make takles, otherwise you get ran over. Running backs lower their head to run over defenders all the time.

  • WOW!!!

  • This is an excellent hit. The returner squatted down causing the head-to-head shot. Great no call by the officials.

  • that was dirty. if you wanna hit someone then do it like a man and use your body not a HARD helmet. cheap.

  • absolutlllllllllllllyyyyy blown upp dammm that in my opinion toped the titans colts 1

  • If you don't want to get hit, then raise your freaking hand. They invented the fair catch for a reason.

  • pussy tackle.watch rugby much harder and bloody :P

  • nobody in rugby gets hit that hard. don't kid yourself.

  • You must honestly be kidding.
