@ Les - Thanks for the great interview! It was nice to get more than what the series offered and little more insight into your thoughts. I'm looking forward to more from you perhaps a collection of skills on DVD with out the 7 days alone or a pocket guide for campfire reading to for the perishable skills. YES to the SM specials!
@ E2E - New to the channel and a little late to this interview. A very professional interview!! Quality Q's & thoughts worthy of this guest !!! Now onto your vids
Thanks for posting this, enjoyed very much. Now I think we should go watch Bear Grylls and count how many different ways his sensationalizing will get the unknowing dead.........Just kidding! I can't stand that show and won't watch it. I really like survivorman and have the utmost respect for Les but in all fairness I have learned a lot more from Dave Canterbury and Dual Survival. "Man, Woman, Wild" comes in third but still very worthwhile to watch.
I heard you guys mention this podcast this last week and i love it! I hav e always loved Les Stroud's show and we always thought his was the best survivor show out there. Thanks again for getting an interview with him.
Awesome pod cast love equip to endure took some ideas from you to sketch out my first knife. Les Stroud is amazing. Survivorman is great and so is equip to endure. Keep it up! Thanks
Les I loved that you couldn't bring yourself to mention the name of that OTHER GUY the one who works with Cody Lundin be safe brother can't wait for the new show and equipment. Roach
@armouredcockroach i assume by your comment "...that other guy the one who works with cody lundin" you mean dave canterbury from dual survival? dave is not the person les is talking about in this video when he mentions fake drama. les says "cody and the other fella (dave canterbury, dual survival)... these are the real deal guys" i think we all know les is referring to bear grylls when he speaks about the sensationalized parts. dave knows his stuff and posts survival videos on youtube regularly.
Thank god, I thought Les had left us after Survivor Man left the air! How could they expect him to do thirteen episodes in a year?! that's a quarter of a year barely SURVIVING... Impossible. PS So glad he's releasing the knives. and I hope he's got a good survival kit on the way too.
All I know is, the skills I learned from Bear Grylls are much more fun than anything I've learned from Les. You want to cut firewood would and hunt food? I'll be swinging from 250 foot trees across gorges until I find a dairy queen.
Les is awesome! I still think that Bear Grylls is a badass though. Not because of his shows, because alot of it is BS. However I think that he's just doing it for the ratings. (obviously) Lets just say that I wouldn't feel under prepared with Bear... lol

If Les is still reviewing ideas for a show, what I would like to see is him take one of YOU guys out for 7 days with him as the crew. Only he gets a tent and all the beef jerky he wants. He's just the camera crew. You get screwed. :D
What Les would be shooting is a hardcore survival lesson and give you folks a chance to take it to the edge.
Adam, your other hosts need to use earphones for monitors to avoid the distracting echo-feedback effect to better understand their questions & comments.Otherwise, GREAT podcast. Les Stround Survivorman was the FIRST survival show worth a hoot to watch. Hope Les' sponsored product line is better tested before production than Bear Grylls' shattering knife end ;>(
I honestly didn't think I'd watch the whole thing, but before I knew it it was at and hour and two minutes in. Great to hear everything from Les Stroud, and I'm quite looking forward to his new knives and series.
That was great! he's really the only real survival show out there...I love Cody and Dave but read Cody's website and he tells you it's not real survival, the directors pick out every site they camp at and how they get out of everything weeks in advance and in his words if you learn 1 thing about survival from their show that’s great but keep in mind it’s TV not real life..But no matter its good entertainment and one of the VERY few TV shows I watch!
6:00 "Truth" is exactly what I like so much about Strouds programs. Although there is some cutting and production involved for TV it seems to be quite honest and it 'jives' with the experiences of most people who actually go out there and DO IT. Which is why it irritates me so much when internet/armchair bozos criticize his show because he's not romanticizing, throwing himself around or magically pulling ample meals out of thin air. That's not what survival is generally like. (Lol.)
this is why i love les, screw the fame screw the exiteing tv stuff all he wants to do is show you the bad and the good of self relience show you how to survive and how to live in the wilderness without a 1000 dallor kit and dont get me rong ive learned alittle bit from everyone that ive watched but some of the "survivalist" get to much into the gear and not the skill! look forward to seeing more from less and more from you guys! have a good one and stay safe out there ~CAMERON~
