the british occupied more land because it was europeans that introduced agricultural farming..in place of subsitance farming...so obviously,...the demands of western civilization require more. Reason behind the Mau Mau uprising is 1948, 1,250,000 Kikuyu were restricted to 2000 square miles (5,200 km²), while 30,000 British settlers occupied 12,000 square miles (31,000 km²).
