Ric Flair retired to go home, get divorced, fight with his daughter, loose his money, sell lottery tickets, charge an obscene amount to money to make phone calls and go to proms with people, go to TNA and embarrass his legacy.

Yeah, I just don't know if wrestling will ever bounce back to the popularity it had in the late 90's/ early 00's. It sucks, but part of me thinks pro wrestling in America maybe heading the way of the XFL and all women's baseball teams after WW2 Recently, I watched SNL from when the Rock hosted in the late 90's, on Netflix, and wow, seeing how popular wrestling was as a mainstream thing back then vs. now just really shows how far Vince and Co. have plummeted with their product.

@rhynokav I've read numerous times that the popularity of wrestling has it's ups and downs. I respect your opinion, but honestly TNA's ppv buy rates are piss poor and WWE's PPV buy rates are a fraction of what they used to be. I know WWE has it's fans, but seriously, if you prefer actual wrestling matches and storylines that don't bore you/insult your intelligence, stay away from WWE and Hogan's TNA...which used to be decent. I think the hope for wrestling's future lies with ROH now.

Whenever I think of how i used to love pro wrestling, I think of this video, and I get sort of misty for the old days, about 10 years ago, when wrestling was huge. Not only is it a great tribute to Shawn, but it also sums up my feelings of how nothing can ever change the greatness of the old WCW, ECW, or WWF days in my mind. Sure, there are still some old guys active in TNA and other indy promotions, but once HHH and Underatker say goodbye, the wrestling everyone loved is gone for good.

@happyfeetful Thanks for agreeing with me. I totally forgot about my comment here, but as I re-read it my expressed feelings fully comeback. I tried watching WWE recently and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Then I watched a match, I had never seen before, with HBK, Steve Austin, British Bulldog, and Owen Hart and it was WAY better than any thing I had seen on Raw recently. Just goes to show...it's not only that I'm older now, but some things can just start to loose it sometimes.

Sometimes it's good when things come to an end...then they don't run on and become stale and boring. Take for instance, "Beavis and Butt-Head." It went off of TV when it was still popular and fans still hold it with great esteem. Now, take a show like "The Simpsons" or "South Park" both of which have lost their steam and just keep turning out bland episodes. Also, after guys like Undertaker and HHH retire, the wrestling most people grew up with will be pretty much be long gone...

Shawn Michaels had the career and schedule many people could only dream about. He praises his fans for praising him and has a bond with Triple H that many, many brothers have. Now, he gets to have a long (and maybe permanent) vacation, so he can be with his family. As he mentioned on Raw, he's spent more time with the WWE Universe than his own family, and he doesn't regret it.
