wether "hispanic" is a race or an "ethnicity" is semantics. They are a group with linguistic, cultural and physical characteristics distinguishing them from other groups. They call themselves "la Raza" [referring to race]. They are a composite of several other races, but they have a strong identity as being part of thier own specific and distinct "people" or "race".

I'll tell you who's all about race. The mayor of Los Angeles represents ONLY Latinos. He doesn't care if they are illegal or legal. The mayor even went Hollywood. He changed his name from Tony Villar to Antonio Villaraigosa. He should be tarred, feathered and run out of LA. He is a disgrace. This has nothing to do with race, Mike. This is not race bating. L.A. and numerous other cities are "Sanctuary Citys" with policies that hinder the police from enforcing the law. this whole debate truly IS about race. though I know you are not allowed to state this obvious fact. blacks and whites and hispanics, the 3 main racial groups. In this one case whites and blacks are united against the massive wave of hispanics, because it happens to be in both groups interest to unite on just this one issue. its about race and each groups struggle to hang on to whatever territory they have.
